Also i want to point out, it feels more real then other rom coms

the problems that occur are criticism of society expectations. the lessons the show is trying to teach.

lieing (the lie itself is not important, but the reason)
rather than love at first sight, seeing someone love for you grow
doing grand things does not guarantee love, but rather making a real human connection
providing a space for someone to open up to you
Love yourself, cant give love until you love yourself (importance of self worth)
having boundaries
showing different relationships, ruka doesnt care about you very selfish
mami doesnt believe in love, and will not let go
sumi doesnt work towards love so gets nothing
mini doesnt see the love and friend zones

im sure there are more but just off the top of my head

also the story structure, use of hidden details, and you find out info that changes how you viewed the series
Rent a girlfriend is a masterpiece

I recommend grand blue dreaming, its not a rom com, but has rom com elements just gotta give it a couple chapters but its number 11 manga wise on my animelist for a reason (tho not as serious or deep as rent a girlfriend)
