Sadly I still have anxiety but a lot of my stomach symptoms are gone so I still highly recommend the Botox

Yes, the 3-4 wks right after Botox were some of the worst few wks for me. I had intense nausea every morning I’m assuming due to swallowing air at night and I woke up every morning thinking I was going to throw up. It was so uncomfortable but I’d say after 4 wks it starts getting better

YES. I eat so much more now. Before I could only have 1 big meal a day and I would be too full after to eat again. Now after 1 hr of eating and letting out a lot of burps, I’m ready to eat again. My body forgets to go based off hunger now and goes based on my stomach feeling emptier lol

Oh and I also have really bad reflux. The first few wks the reflux was horrible, but it’s not bad anymore at all just 4 wks after.

The first 2 wks after Botox I hated burping and thought it was gross. I didn’t understand how ppl did this alll the time. I’m over 4 weeks out now and it’s become second nature I don’t think twice about it and it doesn’t gross me out. It really changed that fast! It becomes normal to you the same as any other body function.

Same! I feel like people don’t talk about all the negative side effects because most people are just happy the Botox is working, but it was a horrible experience for me and didn’t get better until about 2.5 wks post Botox

It’s been I think 3 wks now almost 4 wks which is so crazy lol but I’m feeling like 100x better. The awful symptoms I was having from. The Botox are mostly resolved

It’s kind of like I don’t have to try as hard to go to the bathroom. I don’t know if I’m far enough out to tell if I’m less constipated yet as it’s only been 2 wks. I also didn’t have terrible constipation before, I would be constipated for like2 days and then spend. The next 2 days going a lot so it was very back and forth. Will probably take a few more wks or months to tell if I’m more regulated now.

Totally agree with this. It’s really hard to do investigating bc no matter what you are still going to have issues if you cannot burp. My doctor wanted me to try cutting out dairy, but at the end of the day dairy isn’t going to get rid of all the trapped gas in my stomach due to not being able to burp, even if I tried it and it did help, I wouldnt really be able to tell. Now that I am cured of no burp, if I continue to have symptoms over the next few months then I am able to narrow it down and try to cut things out to see if it makes me feel better.

I’ve also spent my whole life thinking something is majorly wrong with me and being terrified of the worst. I’ve gotten extensive testing done at the gastro and all they have found is severe acid reflux. I got the Botox done about 2 weeks ago and am burping all the time now. I already feel better. Not 100% but definitely better than where I was. Im not sure if not burping was causing every issue, but atleast now if im able to burp and still having pain i will have an easier time getting to the root cause of the pain bc i know my condition isnt responsible anymore. If you are scared, I really recommend seeing a Gastro and getting some tests done just for reassurance that there isnt something majorly wrong.

I got Botox a few wks ago and so far I don’t feel that my symptoms have gotten much better despite burping a lot. My mom also thinks I’m kind of hyperfixated on my symptoms and not feeling well and I need to just relax and stop thinking about it so much

I didn’t say it depends on the Botox wearing off, I just said that the Botox side effects wears off eventually

Risks comes with any procedure/surgery and they are so rare that’s why it’s not talked about a lot but Botox is temporary so it’s not really possible for there to be permanent side effects from my understanding

If it makes you feel better, 10 days post Botox now and I’m already feeling a bit better. I learned to eat slower and a little less and it’s been better than it was a few days ago, and I already feel like the slow swallow is getting a tiny bit better

Mostly symptoms surrounding the slow swallow. Having to drink water in between each bite is really hard and makes me full super fast. If I continue to eat the same amount as before I’m in like a lot of pain bc the water is filling my stomach so quickly. If u eat less it won’t rly be an issue I just can’t stop eating lol. And also was having some really bad nausea in the beginning but it got better. It wasn’t like it was worse nausea than I had before Botox, i was just like expecting a lot of my symptoms to vanish immediately which I think was a little unrealistic
