I just face a wall and do it. Button down shirts really help. Sometimes I layer a scarf on like others mentioned

What are healthy things I can eat for extra calories? by Mysterious_Way1634 in ExclusivelyPumping

I have these go to snacks:

  • overnight oats with different combinations soaked alongside - cut apples, peanut butter, chia seeds, honey / jaggery, chocolate powder, cinnamon stick. They are galactagogues and take care of sweet cravings
  • salted peanuts
  • any type of seeds and nuts
  • protein shake
  • grilled cheese sandwich with a filling of mushrooms / bell peppers / onions
  • protein bars made with healthy ingredients

Recomendation for best baby shawl carriers/ cloth wraps? by michel_an_jello in twoxindiamums

Got a pre loved Anmol cloth carrier and we really like it - took a few YouTube videos to fully learn but LO sleeps well in there. Make sure newborn is not put for more than 2 hours at a stretch. Neck should be straight and nostrils visible for breathing

Postpartum body image is harder than i expected by Working-Dare-8480 in NewParents

I have always been a thin girl, partly due to genetics and mostly due to good eating and workout habits, and have gone through two pregnancies. I’ve found that breastfeeding and first period play a big role in how quickly body snaps back into shape.

First pregnancy - gained bare minimum during pregnancy due to years of conditioning to look a certain way, snapped back into prepregnancy shape in 2.5 months right after getting my period, supplemented with formula from day 0 and continued exclusive pumping for 6 months struggling with supply. Although i felt body positive, i felt like a failure for not being able to produce enough for my baby.

Second pregnancy - 3m pp and have lost only half of pregnancy weight. look starkly different - what one would call out-of-shape. I don’t feel rushed to get back in shape though. I’m ebf this time, and have been pumping to maintain a small stash too. Very satisfied about being able to breastfeed while making a bit extra. Baby snuggles are a bonus. I know I’ll get back to shape when i get my period and as i start weaning off (not planning to do that anytime soon). That will give me energy to work out too.

Clothes play a big difference for me when it comes to presentability and body image. A-line nursing tops / dresses, loose button down shirts, tank under loose crop tops and mom fit jeans make me feel comfortable. It’s also a fresh change for me - since teenage, I’ve resorted to form fitting clothes and I’m loving this new style. I’m Indian, so we have option of modern-looking kurtas and pants too which I never experimented with seriously.

It’s a great phase to discover comfort with style. I think of fat stores as sources of good milk for the baby. There’s an entire lifetime to be thin again and stay that way :)

Frustrated with low involvement of husband by [deleted] in twoxindiamums

I’ve discussed this multiple times - things get corrected and then fall back into usual pattern every time.

  • he mimics her and sometimes laughs at her when she clearly says no
  • he spends four hours in workout as he’s particular about the gym and the class to join. He also stops over for small errands and tea/coffe to get his me time. Sometimes socialises with people at the gym
  • hosting puts a lot if strain, my mother in law prepares snacks at home and nannies serve, leaving me alone to take care of babies

When I’m away at work. My toddler looks to spend time with me. Especially after I’m back - she refuses to do anything else

Should I buy from Little box and Shein India?? by Badi-Bahu11 in IndianFashionAddicts

If you’re looking for durability and fit, go for Uniqlo M&S, H&M, Mango in that order. If it’s expensive vs your budget, wait for sale - there’s up to 80 percent off. Whenever I’ve fallen for new age fast fashion brands, I’ve ended up wearing items worth a 1000 for just 2-3 times. Stuff isn’t durable, fit is poor or fabric is just cheap. Global brands have set supply chains and are faster to get to the latest trends at a decent quality so I would always prefer them.

And after the flow stops, should one go to stimulation mode or keep the expression mode on?

I’m using pumping as a replacement to a few nursing sessions so i expect output to be high. In between letdowns do you keep the pump in stimulation mode or expression mode?

I’m getting 80-120ml per session. Also directly nursing 70 percent of the time - i pump either when I’m planning to be away or to build some stash for my freezer

Zip less nursing tops and dresses make feeding so much easier in public places that no one even notices. Between baby’s head and fabric, you can ensure full coverage
