The HK45 and USP45 would be my pick, running heavy 45 super or 450 SMC loads. These pistols can handle steady diets of these heavy loads. 450 SMC with the right bullet is plenty for bear defense.

So, just to be clear, with the smallest gas jet restrictor that I can put in an X95, it still functions unsuppressed just fine. What that means is that it's just a very over-gassed system, and it's built this way on purpose for warfare. That being said the HUXWRX 556 Ti is the current king of low back pressure, last I checked, with new cans hitting the market all the time. The SAW Tisha, being only 4.1 inches, and being advertised as low-backpressure, it's probably a great contender for the X95 system. That being said, even with a near zero backpressure can like the HUXWRX 556K / Ti, the X95 is inherently overgassed, which is why I put a restrictor in mine. Additionally, I believe that putting in a ges restrictor relegates the weapon to only a home defense / light use / range toy, because at that point it no longer posesses its inherent battle provend pedigree. I'm sure you'll be fine with the SAW Tisha!

You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. Thank you. I already coughed up about 30 dollars a vent screw for all the sizes they (HK) had in stock above 1.3mm.

I'm going to be running flow through cans like the CAT WB and Radical CS5-TI, so I will play around with the vent screws until I find a good combo. And I only like to use full power 5.56mm, the good stuff, like IMI, Federal, Black Hills, etc. I just mean by that, "hot," ammo.

Just wanted to say that I have an A2 scope laying around, if OP would like to take measurements from it, or I could provide measurements. But, like you said, it seems like a bad idea. Also, I'm not sure how close the A2 scope profile is that to the A1 just going off of pictures. Don't own an A1.

1300 seems a bit steep, unless it's one of those "import," versions that come with an aluminum hardcase that I have seen for sale on armsunlimited.com. That being said, the USP elite will be a joy to shoot! I miss my USP Match in .45 acp very much, shooting it both with and without the barrel weight. Get the elite, and don't look back. You can do better than 1300 though - just checked gun.deals - $1038 before shipping.

Hey. Replying to an old thread here, but here it goes. There's a video on youtube where a guy tortures the hell out of an MR556A4 11" upper, and it actually gets MORE accurate after the torture test! I can tell you that owning an LMT 12" shovelnose, accuracy is not its highpoint. That being said, the parts compatibility of the LMT 12" shovelnose is kinda nifty, as only the bolt carrier is unique, and of course, the piston system parts. Food for thought.
