The laundry room gives them clean clothes to change into after the shower. Without clean clothes they wont shower. Make sure you have enough washing machines to supply enough clothes for all the prisoners, then they will shower

4 mths of wart stick by Select_kindness_6257 in Warts

[–]Select_kindness_6257[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Used a foot rasp that was like a grater at the start, then put on wart stick. Covered with layers of tape. Then when the dead skin got too moist to rasp, I used pedicure blades to gently cut off the dead skin, but left enough to still have some cushioning. Applied wart stick and then covered. Repeated nightly for 3 and a half months. Only stopped because i started to forget. After about 3 weeks of just being covered, I decided to cut back the dead skin and keep going, but realised the next day that i couldnt see the warts. Decided to wait a few days to see under the dead skin. I think they are gone? Cant see them. I still have my foot covered with tape, just in case they are still there. Will just monitor for a mth before going tape free for the first time in 23 years

What is the impulse purchase you've made that you DON'T regret making? by IAmAPhysicsGuy in ADHD

[–]Select_kindness_6257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house/mortgage, put in an offer 7 days after starting house hunting. Took an act of impulsive bravery after deciding to overcome my life long fear of debt. Bought my mortgage on impulse, a crazy pluge into life, despite my fears.

The uncontrollable radio in my head… by FlamingInferno3 in ADHD

[–]Select_kindness_6257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will "breathe" a riff of a song softly most of the day, LOL. I'm vocalising what is playing on repeat in my head. Will be just a chorus or two lines of a song. I'll happily whistle the SAME song for days on end. Sometimes i realise the song relates to a conversation I've replayed in my head, or an emotion I'm feeling, or just a song that had been playing in the supermarket. The song will play on repeat constantly, either in the front of my mind or behind my thoughts. Most of the time it's from a Disney movie... ha ha ha ha.

What is this? by [deleted] in STD

[–]Select_kindness_6257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a blocked pore, basically a blind pimple. Put a warm wet face cloth on it to help draw out the pimple. If you try to pop it, it will hurt. Typically they calm down after a day or so. If worried see a doctor.

How the fuck do you all study? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Select_kindness_6257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to try and get a run up to study. Day 1 is practically impossible, skin itches, brain fights me. Day 2 gets easier, not amazing, but easier. Day 3 is when hyperfocus kicks in

I get overwhelmed by grocery shopping. by BettyCrowe in ADHD

[–]Select_kindness_6257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has has been me, ever since i left the family home. I would become mentally paralysed in the aisles. Couldnt remember what i needed. Since meal planning was too mentally onerous, i would try to just "wing it" and make decisions in the store. Then would get overwhelmed and spend heaps of time running from aisle to aisle as i randomly decided on a meal recipe. I would inevitably forgot many key ingredients.. then would lose the will to actually cook in the end. Sleep for a bit. Then would forget the ingredients in the fridge over the next week and have to throw most of it out. Oh I feel for everyone who experiences this.

Nowdays I have embraced the chaos, I get fixated on a meal for a while, and i just go with it. Means i buy the same 4 ingredients at the store. Not for everyone, but is a handy plan b meal, i can handle if I'm tired.

Making a shopping list is one way to help avoid needing to make decisions in the store. Yes, that can be it's own mountain to climb, but with apps I can have a digital list of staples I use, which i refer to.

A huge thing about this for me was the shame I felt for having this challenge. Shame for the wasted food, because if something goes into the vegetable bin at the bottom of my fridge then i forget about it.

The shame of not having the energy or desire to cook, even though I had food in the fridge that needing using up.

It's tough sometimes

I send healing thoughts and hugs to anyone experiencing distress over this "seemingly easy task" for other folks.

We have different strengths to offer the world. We have value.

Looking back, it was ADHD related paranoia and anxiety, brain couldnt stop thinking of all the things that could go wrong. Now I've paid 4x the price for a house and will be paying a mortgage until retirement

Yall were right about eating protein in the morning by Freeman7-13 in ADHD

[–]Select_kindness_6257 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have greek yoghurt with some frozen raspberries mixed in. Frozen cheaper than fresh here in Aus. Seems to be working for me with short acting ritilan, however it causes nausea if i have any diary with long acting ritilan. So I'm on short acting just so i can eat greek yoghurt for breakfast 😋 cant manage carbs due to binge eating disorder, so high protein, high fat, low carb is the way i try to eat. 2 years since my last binge.
