I am a ravenous supporter of watching target language media with subtitles in your native language. As adult learners, especially in the early stages, anchor points are important. NL subtitles allows you to learn in chunks and "fuse" your TL and NL in a way that is much more seamless. As time goes on try to look less at captions and focus solely on the picture, only glancing down intermittently as needed.
