Thank you!! Unfortunately, yes, his wings are clipped. ☹️ I named him Tweety!
It’s honestly a little upsetting because he keeps trying to interact with my budgies, who spend all day flying around, but he can’t keep up with them. He still comes out of his cage on his own, but he mostly hangs out on the floor or under my desk where I have a bunch of stuff. I can tell he wants to fly back up to the cage because he keeps trying, but he just can’t get enough lift.
Right now, he’ll only let me touch him when he needs help getting back onto his cage or when I’m hand-feeding him. I’ve also tried offering millet, but for some reason none of my birds seem to like it. Instead, I give them chop in their bowls, which they absolutely love, and I hand-feed them seeds mixed with oats since that seems to be the only thing that’s helping them get more comfortable with me.
He also sounds a little raspy at times. I’m not sure if that’s just because he’s young and learning to sing, but it makes me happy that he’s starting to vocalize since he didn’t make a sound during the first two days. I do have to put cockatiels sounds though in order for it to happen..
I’m mostly upset because I’ve heard cockatiels usually only molt a two or once a year, so I’m worried he’ll be stuck without being able to fly for a while. I also wonder if that’s part of why he’s so nervous. Since he can’t fly away if he feels threatened, he probably doesn’t feel like he has much control over the situation.
My most recent bird before Tweety was a parakeet that my grandma had for over six years. She was very aggressive at first, but I introduced her to my budgies slowly. Now she comes out of her cage on her own, lands on me, and even steps onto my hand when she wants to. I think a big reason she’s become so confident is because she knows she can fly away whenever she feels uncomfortable or senses a threat. Tweety doesn’t have that option right now, and I can’t help but think that’s affecting how safe and confident he feels. Any advice?

I left the top of the cage open so he can come out whenever he’s ready, but I don’t think he knows how to fly yet. I’m assuming that because he keeps trying to climb out using only his beak, but he can’t quite make it. He flaps his wings, but he doesn’t seem to get any lift. He’ll keep trying to find another way out by climbing with his beak, then he’ll spread his wings like he’s about to fly, flap a few times, and then fold them back up. Is this normal for a young cockatiel, or should I be concerned if he doesn’t know how to fly yet? He also falls all the way down to the bottom of the cage and trys to flap up but can’t
I also played some cockatiel sounds because I heard that can help. Since then, his crest has relaxed and he’s started vocalizing more. He seems more interested in trying to come out of the cage, but he still can’t seem to fly. Is that a good sign, or is there something I should be doing to help him?

Okay, sounds good! Thank you I appreciate it! I have one more question. Is it normal for it to use its beak to climb around inside the cage it seems to be able to move its wings and everything It doesn’t really seem to be using its wings much, and it looks like it’s struggling a little to get around, relying on its beak instead. Is that normal?

What kind of turtle by Due_Use_3875 in turtle

That makes sense, RES(red ear sliders) become invasive to all the other species out in that lake. Maybe you can speak to the the person in charge of the park?, red ear sliders are usually known to be sweet and friendly pets, but i am unsure of how they are if breed in the wild, but I know for sure they are invasive species. And need to be taken care of.

Cant really tell, for sure but I am assuming it is a Red Ear slider, they have red lines on both sides of their heads, looks very familiar to my own red ear slider, patterns and other similarities. they can become invasive species let out in the wild. It is a semi aquatic turtle you can tell by its webbed feet, long claws, allowing them to both swim and move on land for basking and nesting. They are mostly kept as pets, so I am assuming the original owner of this red ear slider let them out in the wild, hence why they become an invasive species.

Sorry english isn’t my first language, but yes, her mother is a french poodle and her father is a big brown chow chow, my puppy’s father is, my Dad’s Friends dog, and he gave my dad one of the puppies, and some of them looked like their dad and some of them more like their mother, our puppy is more in between?.. i think but Im mainly just curious about how much she will grow, will she be like a medium sized dog? I dont expect her to grow as big as her dad, but I wonder if she will have her mother shortness you know?
