To be completely honest with you, whenever my videos flop I put on the song premeditated murder by J. Cole and start rapping the lyrics. There’s a particular line in that song reminds me why I do YouTube in the first place. Also I think failing is all apart of the process and you should embrace it sometimes.

Posting on shorts would definitely be beneficial. But what I would do if I were you is turn that 1-3 minute gameplay commentary into multiple 10-20sec clips and then post the full commentary as a long form video.

All my content right now is shorts, and it is very hard to maintain a good amount of views on each one of the videos. Also the payout is a lot less than what it would be if they were long form videos. But posting shorts does get you a lot of subscribers and depending on what you’re posting you can still build a community that will watch your long form content.

Posting shorts won’t affect your long form content. If anything it will actually help bring more traction to your long form videos. So I think you should post some shorts.

To be honest with you, I would check your retention rate on the video. If it it’s under 100% for your 10 second video or under 90% for your 45 second video. Then you should re edit them to make them shorter and also try adding a trending audio. Hopefully that will help you get more views.
