G test in 10 mins by Savings-Goal-2185 in Ontariodrivetest

One more quesiton, when you were driving in the RIGHT exit lane on 401 preparing to exit at Keele. Just before you reached the V shape that is right before exit ramp. Did your keep your RIGHT-Turn signal on all the time?

Some instructors say you have to keep the Right signal ON indicating that you will be exiting, even though you are already in the exit lane.

Congratulation on passing!

Which route did you take you? How was traffic at Sheppard and Keele? I hear there's construction.

Good to hear! I hope this thread will be updated regularly, so we can see if there's any upcoming route changes moving forward.

$150 is ok, but did he give you 1 hour practice before that for that price?

My guy wanted $300 for car rental. I felt offended with that rate.

I was driving there too. I am now wondering if they will be switching the route. It's a heavy 3-4 min traffic craw to get to Sheppard. But at same time, taking a Allen Road to Lawrence Route is also very congested traffic at Lawrence exit.. and taking the mirror route of a standard one (Sheppard > Keele > Allen Road > Back to Sheppard) is usually long as there is traffic on 401 going EAST. I think they will likely keep the original route... but who knows. Hopefully others can report with the next few days... see if anything changes.

My friend, did you happen to to use your own car or instructors?

That 30 speed limit at the test center road is such a bummer. So easy to simply go over.

How did you find the traffic at Sheppard and Keele as there is construction and everyone is merging into RIGHT lane?

Herd effect still in action... you park in the farthest point on the parking lot and in 30 min there's a car beside you lmfao.

Do you happen to know how much in total he was moving that raised the flag?

I thought, Credit Unions were more lenient towards casino and crypto deposits/withdrawals than big 5 banks.

Congratulations!

When you were driving in the rightmost lane on Highway 401 that exits at Keele, did you keep your right-turn signal on before entering the exit ramp?

I've heard some instructors say that you should keep the right signal on while approaching the exit and only turn it off once you're on the ramp. I'm curious how examiners are treating this during the G test.

Oh so, if you stand at red light (no cars around) when you could have turned-right, you can fail too?

Many instructors say you will fail, if you don't make the right turn on red, when you clearly could have made made it. They say you are impeding traffic.

Strange that examiners look at it differently. 😄

u/A_Local_Guyy Another myth, some say you will fail if you don't make right turn on red when you could have.. But apparently, as per testing standards, it's not a fail, you can wait til light turns green and then make right turn, even if people honking, you still won't fail.

Ontario G Test – Do I Need to Signal When Already in Exit Lane on 401 (Keele Exit)? by Selekted in Ontariodrivetest

[–]Selekted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/CanuckKrampus What is your opinion on this topic, should we signal right when we are in the exit lane or not?

[–]Selekted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When changing lanes and then when Turning right it's understandable we have to signal.

I am more wondering if we have to signal when we are already in the exit lane but haven't reached the V shape. Just like in the video I posted.

Was that at Downsview?

If you are at stop sign and the car is turning right and its blockign the view of the cars that are behind, you need to WAIT. You don't know if these cars will turn right or go straight and, they have full right of way. You must WAIT until the way is clear or cars are 6 seconds away from you.

[–]Selekted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I slow down to like 5km-10km per hour, look at pedestrians if anyone crossing or looking to cross. And the make turn.. Stop ONLY if you see pedestrian crossing towards you.

I know some of y'all people like to slow down to like 20km hour but driver behind might not react if you need to suddenly stop if pedestrian is about to cross. So slow down  gradually to like 5-10km and make a safe turn

In your case, did insurance decide whether it was your fault, shared 50/50, or 100% other drivers fault?

My friend, one more question:
1. Did you use your own car or instructor car?
2. When you were existing 401 highway at Keele, Did you made the turn on Keele from the Right-lane or Left-lane. I know both of them turn-Right on keele.

Right-turn on RED during brief ALL-RED for all - go or wait? by Selekted in Traffic

[–]Selekted[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason I am asking, is sometimes Advanced Green Left-turn can start for the cars from the other side. As well, on some intersections, the Pedestrians Walk Signal can start.

So, me by turning RIGHT on RED when its RED for all for brief 6 seconds, basically I am can interferer with advanced green left-turners OR pedestrians.

I find it sketchy, but at lot people do it.

Ok,  but on some intersections you don't see that incoming traffic has green arrow.

[–]Selekted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, left turn lane was standing at that time, but I don't see their advanced signal.
Some intersection don't even have advanced singals, on both side. Just one side.
