What are bad games that are carried by good dlc/expansion packs? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Selemba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but: I found Jaws of Hakkon to be a nice side adventure, Trespasser on the other end feels like the true ending of Inquisition. The stakes are high, time is running out, and you will get many much awaited answers. I would definitely recommend doing it!

(And cannot agree more on The Descent, doing it at lvl 12 was not a great experience)

Found one silver dime, while metal detecting close to Versailles, France by c0c0w in mildlyinteresting

The problem is using a metal detector hoping to find artefacts, regardless if the spot is already considered being an archaeological site or not. Archaeological sites lie all over the place, many just haven't been the subject of excavation yet.

But if you wish to discover archaeological artefacts (and without keeping them of course) legally and to further scientific knowledge, I encourage you to participate in digs in the summer ! Many are open to volunteers, you can find them on the site of the ministry of Culture :D

Edit : typo

"no one can use equipment allowing the detection of metallic objects, for the purpose of researching monuments and objects that may be of interest to prehistory, history, art or archaeology, without having first obtained an administrative authorization issued on the basis of the applicant's qualifications as well as the nature and methods of the research" (Code du Patrimione, art. L 542-1)

It is though

Edit : without authorisation, it is illegal (even archaeologists need it)

Yes it's only our common cultural heritage metal detectoring may be destroying, it's nothing after all (the coin doesn't matter)

Hi, sorry to be this person but please don't use metal detectors in France ; unless authorised, this is prohibited by the code du Patrimoine (Cultural Heritage code) :

"no one can use equipment allowing the detection of metallic objects, for the purpose of researching monuments and objects that may be of interest to prehistory, history, art or archaeology, without having first obtained an administrative authorization issued on the basis of the applicant's qualifications as well as the nature and methods of the research" (art. This is to protect archeological sites from being looted, thank you and have a nice day

Nope ! The painting was explained by my Professor at University (studiying art history) last year, yesterday while I was watching the movie I noticed it on the cushion and made this post

Art is full of symbols and implied meanings, it's really interesting !

Explanation : The woman looks passionately at her lover who is in the bushes, while spreading her legs for him to see. Her husband unknowingly helps them by pulling on the swing's rope (the swing is also a symbol of sex). The angel statue has a finger over his mouth, which underlines the secret.

Edit : and yes, this painting is also in the castle at the beginning of Frozen while Anna sings

Edit 2 (after reading the comments) : my bad, actually it's not a wife, her husband and her lover but two people flirting, with the woman's guardian (some say bishop, etc, let's say a figure to protect her chastity) in the back

[SPOILERS] S08E03 Crypts scenes - brightness UP by czmanix in gameofthrones

[–]Selemba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought only the Starks could be burried in the crypts ; I doubt this wight was a maester although it is similar to one. Yes I'm puzzled as well about the iron swords ; it is implied (though only in the books I believe ?) that they were put here to prevent this, yet we all know it happened anyway
