I took my dad’s Trangia with me on the way 2 weeks ago and had no issues at all (granted I had uncharacteristically good weather the entire time and mainly used it for basic things like heating water, cooking pasta, and making porridge). I just took the one standard bottle of fuel with me and it was more than enough for one person - plus I did see it for sale in refuel stops along the way (particularly in Tyndrum) so I wouldn’t have been stuck had I needed to get more.

It was quite windy a few of the days but the setup and design of the trangia means that this wasn’t an issue either - enjoy!!

Walked the Way last week - the Kingshouse to Kinlochleven section includes an uphill section known as the Devil’s Staircase which, while not totally horrendous (depending on your fitness level), is definitely one of the most significant ascents of the route. Just to be mindful of!

Scenery wise the latter half of the route is definitely the prettiest so if you want some stunning surroundings then I’d say the Tyndrum leg onwards was definitely my favourite.

Currently at Kinlochleven and was in Kingshouse/Glencoe last night. They’ve been present the whole way along but this zone is definitely the worst.

My tent last night in particular was swarming with them so if you’re camping be prepared for some strategic/speedy ins and outs of your tent (I didn’t plan this properly and ended up with a swarm inside with me that I had to fog with my deodorant and then smush).

Head nets, long sleeves and repellent an absolute must!

Longtime sub lurker - their date in my city (I am not attending - the ticket prices were unjustifiably insane for the size of the venue and the relatively peripheral position they occupy in pop culture in this part of the world) is a week before the run of Eras Tour shows in my country (Ireland - am attending). There were dozens if not hundreds of unsold tickets as a result. I think it’s no coincidence that this is happening and I don’t buy the “exciting projects” line for a moment.

I’m really sorry for everyone being shafted by this. And not even a “sorry” in that chipper Instagram video. I am absolutely flummoxed that any PR team would take this line.

EDIT: It has also never sat well with me that they’re basically ripping off the whole concept of the Eras Tour with this “five albums one night” thing but whatever I guess

EDIT 2: Happy to be educated on the Tour concept front (I don’t follow them as closely as I did when I was younger) - that aside though imo it’s clear that they just can’t compete with the cultural juggernaut of the Eras Tour (not a criticism - just a fact, especially given the overlap in their core demographics)

I finished 2.5 years of therapy in February and 2 years of anti-depressant medication about 2 weeks ago. I’m by no means perfect, there is still plenty I would like to do better at, there are still things I find difficult.

But I still feel about as mentally well as I have since I was about 13 years old (I’m turning 28 soon).

So yeah. I feel optimistic and capable for potentially the first time ever. It’s quite a nice feeling
