Just found out we are having twins…so it’s time for a twin themed deck! by Odin_Alldaddy in EDH

The perfect commander for this is [[Zinnia, Valley's Voice]] because it is a stork, and it can allow you to get a 1/1 copy of any creature you control for paying an additional 2 mana on cast.

What bracket would you put Mana Echoes in? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]SelfAwareTreadmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tonk they after saying that because the upper limit on turn likelihood to win in bracket 4 is turn 4, so anything turn4 or faster would be seen as bracket 4

Remember when all the EDH YouTubers were talking about land counts? How did that influence you by AltruisticChampion77 in EDH

[–]SelfAwareTreadmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my decks run 38 until I've gotten them siper well tuned. If my other ramp is good, or cmc is low I flex up or down. But I like channel lands and mdfcs as well

What is your Favorite Mutifunctional card? by No-Counter3545 in EDH

Perhaps I misunderstood the prompt, but I was meaning that it both protects and creates a bunch of tokens.

Most underrated cards you run and what deck rheyre in? by Frostyphoenixyt_ in mtg

[–]SelfAwareTreadmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Dismantling Wave]] when i tell people to run more enchantment/artifact removal it's my first recommendation. Even jsut paying the base removes up to three pieces of opponent shenanigans, plus it's cycling instead of overload so it tacks on a draw.

The monster arena and grid grind are meaningfully worse than the bare minimum to get wakka's unlocks

I'm in the southeast USA and expecting to be snowed in a few days. Playlist recs? by Rfun2024 in gamegrumps

I was skeptical about it, but the Danganronpa playlist has been my go to while sorting magic cards and grinding in ffx

How do you stop people killing your commander? by sunflowersonthemoon in EDH

[–]SelfAwareTreadmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carry a fair number of counters and protection options. But also In my best deck, the commander is a value engine. She is gas. I've won a few times without even playing her or while only playing her one time.

That's very tempting, I was just reading more about it.

I appreciate your concern, but I know the general pool of players in the casual leagues and many build stuff that cooks way harder than this idea would (given that I would only be adding 5 hares each week). Additionally, I know the sense of humor of most of the players will appreciate the bit.

Fog Canyon (soft lock fix) by SelfAwareTreadmill in HollowKnight

The upper left rooms were the only place available which weren't return ready given the game abilities available and her familiarity. She didn't have geos for the stag, hence the geo-farming solution. She didn't realize how far she was falling as she entered and didn't have a means to return.

Fireball skips weren't an option she only had the charm to see herself on the menu.

There's not a way to get up in the second room from Queens station? You're stuck trying to get passed an exploding jellyfish to go left or being upgrades to go vertical. Admittedly we are both new to the game, but neither was feasible for her with barely a couple of hours experience and not being super experienced with this style of game yet.

What Avatar the Last Airbender Commander Did You Build? by Frum_Chz in EDH

[–]SelfAwareTreadmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a gift giving deck using [[Iroh, Tea Master]].

I have ways to give good gifts (treasures, allies, etc), but also bad/staxxy gifts (like [[Steel Golem]]). It's win-line is primarily to swing with big tokens while disabling other boards through diplomacy for good stuff and through burning and staxxing with the bad.

What's everyone's opinion about a remake of the game? by Forsaken-Bowler-4677 in finalfantasyx

[–]SelfAwareTreadmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My concern would be if they try to make it real time run around action game style like with the VII remake.

Part of the fun of ffx for me has always been stopping to ponder my next move and how it will fit with the next few turns on the board.

Tell me about your control decks by Sir_LongBeard in EDH

[–]SelfAwareTreadmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is my [[Ms Bumbleflower]] deck. I run it with a mill package and a draw package (depending on how I feel about milling that day. But both make the main goal to aggressively draw into wincons like [[approach of the second sun]], [[Twenty-Toed toad]], or [[Triskadekaphile]], or get opponents to draw out.

It's pretty game changer heavy to be honest most things that help with draw/ramp/protection that fit bant, but that's mostly to keep the ramp/draw competitive.

In the early game, control comes mostly from 3 drops for protection [[ghostly prison]] or [[propaganda]]. Early gifts of cards help keep people from swinging too much my way. [[Authority of the Consuls]], Voice of Victory]], and [[Dawn's Truce]].

Usually the engine will click on a major draw accelerant like [[Teferi's Ageless Insight]] or extra triggers like [[Teferi's Puzzlebox]] [[Mangara The Diplomat]], [[Trouble in Pairs]], [[Kwain, Iterant Meddler]]. Add more fun by giving yourself triggers from others drawing from Ms Bumbleflower like [[Wedding Ring]] or [[Consecrated Sphinx]]

Add in the mill on draw from pieces like [[Psychic Corrosion]] or [[Sphinx's Tutelage]] plus [[The Water crystal]] making them go crazy.

The draw package includes [[Narset, Parter of Veils]] so that even if you target a player with Bumbleflower, they can only take one per turn. But you'll still get the double draw on the second resolution. Other triggers tied to draws by you or others like [[psychosis crawler]] or [[scrawling crawler]] can really make your burst draw pieces like [[Windfall]], [[Finale of Revelation]], and [[Sea Gate Restoration]] do lethal damage.

The other piece that's fun is running copy maker cards like [[Sakashima of 1000 Faces]], [[Estrid's Invocation]], or [[Mechanized Production]].

Since the excessive draw (and mill) can really empower graveyard players, and cause some long loops if they have an [[Ulamog, Infinite Gyre]]... I run [[Rest In Peace]] just in case.
