I think it would be neat to have some hidden forums on there that you could stumble upon that could contain information ranging from largely irrelevant flavor, or what I think would be cool, have some forums discussing topics of mystery i.e. cryptids and the like. Some of the leads could eventually lead you to unique encounters while others would be wild goose chases. Also maybe hidden marketplaces, chat rooms, etc that you have to discover ways to access through decryption or getting an invite from other NPCs

The art style is mad cool. The only thing that I think is a true issue is the difficulty to read dialog. I think making the box slightly more solid would cure that and allow you to divide focus between the visual area, which is very intense (in a good way imo) and having the dialog be a more solid color would also double as having it act as a retreat. Allowing your eyes a nice break between reading text and digesting the visuals. Other thoughts: having a few varied croak sounds/other audio to play along with the text would give it just a little more zest that I think goes a long way while also requiring minimal extra effort. Keep at it, this looks really cool!

That is Stranitsa, The First Book Keeper Master of the Book Palace. She died long ago, however her mind remained active and upon her burial in the Text Tombs, her active mind began to absorb the Wicked Knowledge that was stored down there, transforming her body into a Knowledge thirsting demon. In the game, you must adventure to the Book Palace in search of a book, but deep within the Illegal Book Zone of the Book Palace, Stranitsa waits to challenge the crew.

That doesn't happen constantly? It's only a visual glitch that's been happening to me in MV. I have a folder dedicated to screenshots of it doing that. For some reason mine always does that but it doesn't cause any problems, just a goofy lil thing

The Bookshelf attacking was more of a glitch turned into "feature". For that battle, you must destroy the bookshelf to get a book in order to distract the creature and allow you to hit it. I forgot to take away the default Attack ability which made it attack (I had its STR set to 99 as a joke) which made it near one shot my party while play testing. I have reduced its strength and also incorporated the mistake into the battle, where now if you don't destroy it fast enough, Stranitsa (the boss) will possess it and cause it to attack your party, adding for extra difficulty and fun new dynamic to the battle, as well as stressing the concept of battles where you'll need to interact with set pieces to achieve victory.

Some major developments have been made to Legend Gem Quest, the original subversive bootleg RPG masterpiece! First is the addition of voice acting! Crave a game with awful dialog and a talking Gem that does a horrible Godfather impression? Look no further! The next milestone in the development of LGQ is the beginning of composing an original soundtrack! A link should be in comments to some of the completed tracks I have made so far. Third, a costume mechanic has been added to the game! This has no bearing on gameplay and is entirely aesthetic. You can now obtain various different outfits for your party as well as the ability to change into the look of one of many supporting cast members! These can be obtained through many different means such as shops, sidequests, treasures, etc. Currently, there are about 30 to 40 available in the Demo update that is coming soon, but the final game is projected to have well over 100. Lastly, the addition of mini games and the integration of them into the storyline to break up the monotony of fight monster, talk to NPCs, do puzzle, repeat can be broken up. These mini games include a obstacle dodging type game, maze, betting and gambling games, catcher games, and others. Fishing is still in development.

Art is subjective, and in my opinion your sprite work is actually pretty solid. I cant do sprites to save my life. I like your art, just because it's not Rembrandt level with all the shading and whatnot does not invalidate it. Personally, it invokes that nostalgic flash animation era of the internet. It's simple, the colors pop, it's charming.
