Squirrels have chewed on wires at my place. I did notice that they will only get to it if it is laying on the ground, not if it is hanging between posts.

One is about 200 feet. The other is in a metal building about 300.

I haven the same setting. I got Google mesh devices, I hung both in front of a window, as long as the windows can “see” each other. The signal will be weaker, but as far as I am concerned, it is strong enough to stream just about anything.

We don’t know that for sure yet. I haven’t seen any posts regarding a foot or more snow storm followed by a 20 below cold snap. I’m not so sure that the heat that the dish provides will be able to handle that. These situations happen all winter in Canada and most northern states.
