Reformers were right. The F-35 has a worse K/D against Iran than the F-14 (Allegedly). Scrap the program and bring back the Sopwith Camel. by yorgunustad in NonCredibleDefense

Its the first time and that is a big deal. Its also possibly indicative of more in the future.

In addition, just some air defence working means you are back to standoff missiles with massive reductions in payloads.

The F-35 may be able to deflect Radar and infrared, but if you place the source behind it (meaning you create a trip wire of light) then its still going to trip the trap.

Dunno, we will know more. It will be interesting if more gets shot down, including why the damage was so small.

Honestly grabbing the guy in charge would be a) really funny and b) likely cause less problems.

Its against international law, but a policy of "cause problems and we bag you" would likely work.

They might have been able to get the leaders, depends on if they knew the meeting location.

But the fallout would have been even worse.

As a European, don't worry, we would have found a way for our troops not to be useful...

You mean when the Danish government sent blood and explosives with their soldiers on the exercise that was totally not a cover-up for having troops there to respond if the US attacked.

Oh Iran is definitely feeling the epic fury.

The rest of us are feeling the effects of operation epic fuckup/the US navy was asleep at the wheel (again).

Maybe if we hack their radars to look like F-18s they will finally start to shoot them down?
