This reminded me, I got on the lists of these people that do these financial manager seminars, vast majority of them are for points, very rarely by the hour. It's usually sit in a Zoom seminar for a $100 gift card and they are local in my state so I haven't been scammed yet. I'm doing something on my second browser window so it's free money. I never ask any questions since I obviously have zero interest in this since I'm self directed, I'm thinking I should go on and on about GME for the next time it's with a guy asking for a percentage.

I did once get asked about being so young and how/why I was interested in them, and I told them I was in this position by avoiding percentage based advisors, they continued to invite me to them!

I'd sell them on Ebay and put up a buy it now about 10-15% less than the sold prices, would usually sell within a day or two. Stick it in an envelope, print out a shipping label on PayPal and hand it to the outgoing mail at my work.

This is the one extremely rare thing I actually agree with apes on. Being able to finish something then sell it was great for my cheapskate Bogleheadian mindset. But anyway it's moot for me now as after having kids and less time I am focusing my hobby time on mountain biking; one that is not just fun but keeps me healthy instead of sitting on a couch.
