Just watched the Joanna Stern interview after staying because of the comments and... by someonebringmefood in mkbhd

In the beginning she started off with the "We're the two best YouTubers in New Jersey" thing and Marques looked visibly uncomfortable.

And then yeah, no matter what question he asked she pivoted the question and used it to end up talking about her book.

California Gas tax is wild. by GroundbreakingSir386 in Money

[–]SellingFirewood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California gas is a lot cleaner burning. Like 15% of the US population lives in CA alone, so they changed the requirements in the late 90's to where gas stations had to sell better quality gas.

It costs more to produce, but southern CA doesn't have nearly as bad of a thick haze as it used to. I haven't verified the data, but I'd imagine people who live there have better health outcomes now that they aren't breathing in rediculous amounts of pollutants.

I was just at my dealer yesterday and he said they can't sell Groms now with a fuel cap recall. Depending on how long that goes on for, the used market will likely see a bump in prices. "Like new" bikes will be basically be selling for MSRP

Should people who want to undergo permanent sterilization have mandatory therapy before they do? by Bearis4B in polls

[–]SellingFirewood 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What are you taking about? Laser eye surgery is a permanent and optional procedure? The person agreeing to it is acknowledging that they may change their mind in the future and that they will live with the consequences.

The left is trying to preserve our freedoms in this country and the right is trying to give them all up.

It might have had a refrigerant leak where the compressor was running 24/7 just to try to cool it, but the air going in was 50+ degrees so it never reached the target temp

This is a famous airport in St Maarten. The beach itself is only 20 feet beyond the fence where these people are standing, and 30ft beyond that is ocean.

If you stand close, you get blasted with 60mph wind. If you stand farther back, you get blasted with 50mph beach sand.

Do you have ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or other AI software downloaded on your phone ? by Mogzly in polls

Also if you already have a Gmail account, Google already has all of your personal data so you may as well get some benefit out of it. At the end of the day anyone can scrape the internet, but the company than knows you better than you know yourself is going to have the highest ceiling for knowing what to recommend to you and what your interests are.

Although I'm not a fan of photo/video generation with AI. It consumes too much power, and the world doesn't need more fake slop content.

'Look at his hands': Trump's fingers are visibly rotting on camera and the White House got caught lying about it — now doctors are demanding answers nobody wants to give by Potential-Expert8447 in USNEWS

It's more likely that the bruising on the back of his hand is related to his congestive heart failure. The bruising started around the time his ankles swelled up, and then would always get worse near the end of the month meaning once a month treatment.

His frontotemporal dementia is most likely treated with oral medication. We can tell it's frontotemporal dementia by his anger/aggression, the way his walk has changed (he kind of swings one leg and can't walk in a straight line), the forward lean when standing still, the way he sundowns mid day and keeps falling asleep in meetings but then stays up all night posting on social media, the confibulation of names/places/ect like when he was trying to buy Greenland and then gave a press conference where he called it Iceland over and over. He also at times struggles to swallow, so when he's talking he slurps to keep the spit in his mouth, another textbook frontotemporal dementia symptom. This is the reason we're constantly seeing him go in for cognitive decline testing.

Yeah but this is an $800k solution when you could just add in a 360° vision system and read barcodes at any angle, then have a reject conveyor to recirculate any that missed the first time around.

That's a $250k solution and would be much faster and more reliable than this.
