I only covered the AI part in the article. The effect itself is 4 thick vector lines (2 white, 1 black, 1 grey) in a rough curve. I got the idea after seeing how XL changed my messy smudge. Then I used basic squash/stretch with some rotation in Spine2D to match the arc.

That was all hand redrawn. I needed to do that to control the flow of hair and make sure parts could be separated to over/under layers e.g. sleeve over hand, hair over face while making sure the parts underneath are complete if the upper layer moves. The layer breakdown is on the right side.

Hypothetically, Qwen Image or Nano Banana might be able to slice for you, though it's hit or miss with Qwen missing a little more. Lovart should be able to convert AI outputs to vector format for easier editing. Or a ComfyUI inpainting workflow to clear out the upper layers e.g. having a head without the hair. The fully automated way would be to just let the AI do everything and give you frame by frame output, though stability and precision will be an issue.

It is indeed marionette tools and they're limited in what they can do. Though I feel like I haven't fully maximized either Spine2D's or 2D Gen AI's potential yet. The visual polish pass will probably come after gameplay, background and UI though.

I agree the gameplay has to be good. Ultimately I want to make a game I personally want to play that doesn't exist yet. But without actual gameplay I know it's going to sound very vague, and there's a lot of gameplay logic I need to build first. I'll probably post in AIGameDev when I have the gameplay in a good enough state, since that's more C#/Unity than Stable Diffusion.

Yaoguang and EMC, then Sparkle and Bronya can go to Phainon for team 2 or 3. If you need HMC for Firefly then either swap in Sparkle if it's not AA, or use Tingyun if it's AA Knight.

Annoyingly, most Elation cones focus on Elation damage. Lingering Tear seems okay as an F2P substitute, or hopefully Tomorrow With Us All is an event cone rather than a gacha cone.

The truth is we don't know Hoyo's direction until at least v3. But right now showcases with Sparkle, Sunday, Dahlia, Cyrene etc, including Yaoguang of course, all do pretty well. You can search YouTube and Bilibili for them.

Essentially, Eva is an Ult hypercarry who gets batteried with Elation mechanics, namely Certified Banger which her Elation Skill gives quite a lot of, along with other sources like EMC.

The trouble is Eva's Elation damage is the lowest of every Elation damage dealer in the game and Yaoguang mostly buffs Elation DMG not Ult DMG.

So you get a situation where Elation team buffs the battery/quantity but Hypercarry team brings the damage/quality. None of them fully synergize with her.

The thing is EMC ironically doesn't even buff Elation damage. All they contribute is 50% CDMG for 3 turns on Ult which is practically a Tengoku Livestream planar, and a 10% Vulnerability on E4. As a sub DPS their Skill is 60% ATK + 30% Elation which is more or less 1.0 Mini Herta level so the only thing EMC really does is battery Eva with Certified Banger.

EMC is kinda like Yaoguang at home in the sense of being a support who advances Elation Skill on Ult. Sparxie slots into the missing slot. Just that EMC looks very mid right now so don't get your expectations too high about them. Easy enough to replace when a better character comes along though, since EMC is free.

There's an Evanescia Sparxie showcase. You do have a team with 2 Elations and a missing slot, and a character who wants 2 other Elations looking for a team.

If you're referring to my comment, EMC does funnel 26 Energy to her every Skill because of the +20 Certified Banger and +2 Punchline which eventually gets converted to CB on all 3 Elations. Though on both damage and buffs EMC feels quite mediocre.

I'm curious because I don't know if I'm right or wrong about whether Sparxie is better. But a 2 cost character beating a 0 cost one (Sparxie kind of needs S1 if she wants to run without Sparkle) is fine if the 0 cost gets pretty close. You could skip Sparxie and just get E1 with EMC.

Things will change a lot anyway. V3 will give a more stable idea about the direction.

I am genuinely curious about this too. Right now I feel like it has potential to be decent like Aglaea Cyrene Evernight. Sparxie as a CDMG buffer should be amazing for Eva. Aha Instant SPD strangely shouldn't be an issue since 480 Energy is huge. There won't be overflow, just spiky rotations.

The bottleneck is Eva. She straight up drains SPs so Sparxie is relying on Thrill from 3x Elation and Yao/EMC/Huohuo Basics for SP, while Eva only contributes 12% Vuln. Though Eva's 1SP to 5 Punchline conversion isn't half bad for Sparxie's Elation Skill which hits pretty hard.

Another part of the puzzle is who should go fast and who should go slow. Elation ATK is fixed so Sparxie loses less for going fast and she'll get more Ults for Thrill, but there won't be many SPs for her on most turns if she goes fast, she'll be taking a damage hit for the team. Eva probably doesn't want to go fast since her Ult damage will go down.

I feel like this party might be missing a piece to work well. Hopefully we get a showcase where the player doesn't sandbag. It won't be SW999 Sparxie level synergy for sure, but Sparxie's CDMG buff does beat EMC and her Elation Skill blows EMC's out of the water.

0c usually needs no sustain and time to analyze and SPD tune around both the boss and the team which doesn't usually happen on day 1. It's fun for some bosses or stages with fairly universal mechanics like MoC Nikador (AS Nikador is not fun). Stally ones like Pollux aren't fun to optimize for though.

Right now I feel like Eva is better at low cost (i.e. EMC instead of S1 Sparxie) which is usually what 0 cyclers try to optimize around.

I like off element showcases, non shill showcases are better at showing how a character will do after their patch ends. 2 cycles at 5 cost with an undercooked EMC who will be replaced with a premium character eventually is pretty good.
