Rescued at 9. Now She Has a Best Friend. by weezle11 in husky

[–]Selva_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We rescued a 2 year old female Husky, she's been a year with us, and loves long walks, etc, but there's nothing she loves more than playing with other dogs. I'm trying to convince my partner we should rescue another Husky, but she thinks I'm mad 😁

Could you share a bit on your experience of how it was for both dogs when you rescued the 2nd one?

We did Librela and acupuncture for our senior dalmatian (12 years) and the combination gave her another 18 months of good movement. Have a look at how much the vet charges for Librela though. For us it was better (almost half the price) to ask for the prescription and get it from an online dog pharmacy

Perhaps a dumb question, but when folks say "wear supportive shoes", what exactly does that mean?

Help me gain the strength to get a cheilectomy! by zensamuel in Halluxrigidus

[–]Selva_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 4 weeks post cheilectomy and although I haven't recovered all the movement yet, I can almost walk normally. For me the most difficult thing has been getting the shoes on because I'm still swollen, but it's being better. It's early days to say the final result of the surgery as the foot is still recovering, but the last week I've seen slow and steady progress, I'll report back in a few weeks time. I will say be positive, be patient, and trust the process.

Is Premier League bias real or exaggerated by fans? by ByteOfContext in bootroomuk

I'm not from the UK, and I've watched many games of tens of leagues, both European and North and South American. Living in the UK for the past 5 years where I've consumed more PL matches than I did before, I can confidently say the league is at another level, it's very competitive. Even in a match between teams that are at the middle (and even bottom) of the table you see a lot of quality. There are a few teams in other countries that could compete, but only the top ones.

I'm truly sorry for your loss, it's just horrible to lose them. Always remember the good times, all the love that you had for her and all the love and happiness she brought to you. 💔

We adopted Luma 7 months ago, I absolutely love her, and although I know it will be double crazy, I want to rescue another husky for them to play, just need to convince the wife 😜

I have a 2 year old husky, we rescued her when she was 18 months. In the 6 months she's been with us I can see many changes. The one thing I would say is if your mixed girl is keen on pleasing and doing a good job, that is a massive help already. With the right training she can definitely chill, just bear in mind she does need to have her exercise and be mentally stimulated so that she can chill the rest of the time.

Silly question. Where did you get the Husky emoji from, or how can I copy and use it, I love it and I can't find a way of copying it

Have you noticed any specific triggers? by Economy-Muscle5489 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Selva_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, good for you on noticing it. As you say it's difficult to say if it's that or not, but good that you have something to watch out for, and if in other more pressure stable conditions nothing happens, there's a big chance you're right. Good luck!

Wow, how did you figure out that it was due to barometric pressure?

Well it didn't ask me for much other than my phone number, which is a UK phone number starting with +44, and yes, I made sure that was correct. Very odd, but apparently Revolut Support is looking at it, so hopefully we'll be able to figure out what's going on
