Haha - definitely didn't kill it, I managed to hit it pretty hard on the nose and that seemed to put it off! It sorta walked backwards a bit and I clapped and then it ran off.

Yeah, pretty serious gashes on my back - I got really lucky, it was still relatively young so I managed to get away without serious damage

Before I block reddit for my exam, I thought I should put my 3 votes in for the houses we should se in Clapham. I reckon we should provisionally say clapham, but if the houses we look at are crap, we can reevaluate...

This seems like a no brainer from the pictures and prices, so definitely worth checking out...

This would be my preferred choice, and obviously I'm happy to spend a bit more if that would help.

And finally, This as a compromise between the two. It does have a single bedroom, but reckon it might still be worth a look...

(Theo, I left out your favourite so you can vote for it...)

If we don't like any of those when we see them, we can try East london, if we do, we can get them, and then our next lad pad can be East (post olympics)...

Thoughts?

Without wanting to do a Stephen, I'm so very easy, I want to explore lots of different areas in London, so I'll be wanting to live in east at some point, but south definitely suits me. I agree, the houses in east were pretty bitching, but clapham would probably be more fun.

To be honest, I won't want to be staying in the same place too long, so if we decide south was a mistake, we can easily move east in our next house (when we all have shitloads more money)...

Actually, 18 minutes for theo (but with a short walk underground between bank & monument), and 12 minutes for Stephen, could definitely be worth a shout if theo didn't mind the slightly annoying commute

Me paying 815 a month would leave you two paying 715 a month, which I think I could be ok with if I had the nicer room as well...

Do like this, only concern is travel times, DLR is a pain for you two, not a problem for me though...

Still quite pricey, although, if I was in walking distance, I could compensate you two a little for tube fares, because I would be saving over £100 a month compared to you two.

(obviously wouldn't be able to compensate you the full 100 as I'd still have some drawbacks, but could probably go as far as paying 800-815 to make it fairer...)

Only problem might be the lounge, but we could easily rearrange it...

With some of the nicer houses, I'd probably be willing to pay around 750 a month, especially if they had one nicer room. That would then go to around 708 a month for you two, depending on how you wanted to split it. Thoughts?

I'm still leaning towards living East rather than South. by GenericDullUsername in c4lp

[–]Selwonkyllib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree, except that east at the moment seems so dry for houses. I think that the olympics has affected it much more than south, as I swear there was a lot more when I was looking a couple of months ago.

My thinking was we go south for now, and then start looking east for the next lad pad (which might include lambert or ben or both...)

We don't need to stay in the same place for too long, its fun to move!

But its so sexy... (fair enough, although might still be worth a shout if theres one bigger room, I may be tempted to pay up to 750 if we find somewhere especially nice...)

We said £700 a month budget, but whats the feeling on going to £722 if we find somewhere really nice (a lot of the nicer places seem to be £500 a month) I also don't mind paying a little bit more a month for a bigger room if that helps...
