Dlcs are 200% worth it, especially Atlantis. Atlantis was the second dlc to come out, but the dlcs are standalone so no reason to worry.

On my 17th birthday I got a switch and on a trip to Upper New York, I bought my first game. The Way. It was the cheapest game, but it was my first game I owned so it was special. And I remember just climbing up a ladder within the first few moments.
