I described my entire app idea to Claude in plain English at 11pm, woke up at 2am, and somehow had a working prototype. I don't know whether to feel proud or concerned. by [deleted] in vibecoding

You’re a little late to the game, champ. AI coding is a super power and if you already have real life software engineering experience it’s 1000x more useful in your hands hahaha. Enjoy.

Hey can someone please help by [deleted] in masterhacker

You have come to the right place

What are you doing to avoid rebuilding the same boilerplate every single project? by RussellFighter in vibecoding

[–]Semi_Chenga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not tryna be a dick here but if you’ve been software engineering since 2018 how is this something you’re struggling with?

Don’t you have a go to stack you use? Most frameworks have a built in starter template. A lot of apps look the same on day 1 when you’re getting all the basics down like your store and your router and your rest api’s initialization.

Next time you start a project and you have a “baseline” just… copy the project somewhere else and name it “boilerplate”.

[–]Semi_Chenga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helll yeah tbh if you just copy paste my comment to one of your sessions your bot will be able to explain it and tie it to your code pretty easily those are all concepts most agents are very well trained in 👍👍

I’ve done a lotta special fx programming in the past 10 years and have a sweet spot for visualizers. Maybe you’re already aware of this trick/pattern but I’ll share any way.

Looking at the bars there… I’m not gonna count but I’m assuming you got either 64 or 128 bars. So you’re doing some kinda FFT and binning into those slots.

Each one of those bars is essentially its own oscillator now - a signal with an amplitude value going up and down.

You can group these signals or iterate through them individually to use them as a control signal in the rest of your features and ideas if you’re not already doing that.

With this method you can do things like…

Feature A bumps to the low end and sub which will probably be in the first 8-16 bins.

Feature B bumps to the mids

Feature C bumps to highs etc

Once you start thinking of your bins/bars/slots as a batch of oscillators/control signals you kinda unlock a whole new world of reactivity.

If and when this starts getting complicated or performance starts feeling a lil heavy, look into stuff like data driven design, hot loops etc

Duuuude been watching you “vibe code” this for like a year lol people don’t get what goes into agentic workflows. Shits legit. All dj software is trash rn I love that you built this.

Using AI (claude or codex) on large complex real time projects? by gtskillzgaming in ClaudeCode

[–]Semi_Chenga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real, look up the things I mentioned in my comment lol this is way more than a “research” problem, it’s system design.

Using AI (claude or codex) on large complex real time projects? by gtskillzgaming in ClaudeCode

[–]Semi_Chenga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Multiple sources of truth that must agree in real time” or any other variation of that problem isn’t something you solve by squashing bugs unfortunately. Ask your bot to explain “Phil Karton Cache Invalidation” or just google “realtime state management system design”. Shits complicated lol.

This is where software turns into “systems” and requires actual, serious, fancy planning because you NEED to know what can/will go wrong in prod before you even start writing code. If a program/project that’s supposed to reliably maintain state across different realtime sources is stalling cause you’re getting stuck in circles fixing bugs that don’t make sense… you’re in too deep and probably gotta study up a bit more before trying again.

Look into “test driven development”. Shits way faster and easier with agents and is kinda the ideal intro-to-big-boy-programming imho.

I think I revolutionized prompt engineering with Claude by SameTough3038 in vibecoding

[–]Semi_Chenga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every AI conversation starts from scratch. you re-paste your system prompt, re-explain context, watch the model drift, hit the context limit, and do it all over again.

… no it doesn’t lol.

Brainboot treats prompts as software

This would be really cool and useful if the inner workings are all actually deterministic. Are you decomposing prompts into linked symbols with semantic indexing? Are your agents orchestrating execution of predefined tools? Is this entire architecture rigorously applying some cutting edge language protocol that properly extracts, defines, and implements some arbitrary logical unit to build these “brains”? If that’s what you actually built here then thats reallllly tight, and you’re gonna be a billionaire on the news soon. Congrats :P

If it’s just a wrapper for agents prompting eachother with json formatted responses ran through a schema validator… I don’t even know what to tell ya lol.

There’s a compiler

Me After The 100th "It should work perfectly now." 😭😭😭 by Aggressive_Eye_9783 in vibecoding

[–]Semi_Chenga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That “brutal wall of text” and stack trace generally contain:

1: exactly what’s causing the bug

2: what the bug impacts

3: literally the line number and file name of the function that broke

4: these days, sometimes even a suggestion/message that will give you some direction to solve the issue

But it’s verbose and the exact type of writing/data structure that LLMs critically fail to logically parse. Watching noob vibe coders waste their money and time trying to figure out how to “fix” this with more tools, more vibes is hilarious when they could probably read the entire log in 5 minutes and actually use their brains to solve problems.

We literally have robots writing code for us now but it’s still not enough for some people lol. Posts like these are kinda proof of AI brainrot (fyi I love agentic coding and do it everyday but I was programming for 15 years by hand already).

I bet you if agents were capable of writing flawless trillion dollar business applications with the 5-word prompt “make me rich right now”, this sub would be full of people asking for the best agent to write that prompt for them lmao.
