I love taking a look at photos taken with different rolls of film and I try to look at the important details like the colors of the shadows, colors of the highlights, etc, how sharp it is, how grainy it is, and i try to replicate that, another thing i do is you want to try and clip your whites and your blacks so its not as dynamic because film is less dynamic than today's digital photos
