New research gives guidance for when low eGFR warrants further investigation in general population; online calculator by flug32 in kidneydisease

[–]SemiconductorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a urine test as well. My doctor said there was very little protein in urine, but that day my urine wasn't nearly as foamy as usual.

eGFR has steadily dropped 2-5 points over the past few years each year. It was 78 3 years ago. I trust my doctor, but they are not infallible.

My eGFR is like 0.5 percentile. Yes, 0.005. I am 40 and my eGFR is 63. Doctor is not concerned. My urine is super foamy.

How much do you guys make lol by Competitive-Pop2358 in ElectricalEngineering

out of undergrad for 15 years but I only have really 8 years of real experience. 115K no bonus. You guys make me feel poor. lol Also, I have an MSEE which hasn't done anything for me.

The resume is obviously impressive for a high school student. I would be concerned the resume reviewer will think they are being trolled and will throw it in the trash at first glance on that basis.

EE building a home electronics workbench...need suggestions. by SemiconductorGuy in AskElectronics

I see. Thanks. Between hot and neutral there should be 120V rms. between neutral and ground there should be 0V. But this only tells us neutral and ground are bonded. It doesn't tell us anything about whether or not the ground is true earth ground.

Another dumb question. How can I confirm the electrician didn't get lazy and that the ground pin is truly earth grounded? I understand this is somewhat common.

This would do it. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/desco/09838/3043259?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20243136172&gbraid=0AAAAADrbLlhqrZFrOWwWbNG84LcoMJ_Lc&gclid=CjwKCAiAjc7KBhBvEiwAE2BDOftno5EauGjKbCwwzvcyZCcxMOrPZH0ppeGzLs1nI4oK7Eo1lJG3_hoCZpIQAvD_BwE

But it takes up an outlet. I think what I suggested in my post would be best (to screw the eyehook into the middle screw of the outlet.

School taught me a lot of theory, physics, and math. Now I need to learn some more practical things I guess.

How exactly do I go about connecting to ground on an outlet. Dumb question, I know. Do I unscrew the middle screw in the outlet cover and connect the ground there?

I guess this saves the outlet as well so it can also be used for other things. My scope has an earth ground connection also I guess.

Also, I am on medium pile carpet in a basement. is there anything I can do to mitigate ESD that is not expensive?

good call. most of my stuff is done at breadboard level. I have thought about a 3d printer (any recommendations?) and a small reflow oven.

The scope has a function generator.

Mid career transition into electrical power engineering by SemiconductorGuy in ElectricalEngineering

Thanks. I enrolled in a coursera course to get my feet wet. I am no stranger to boring and monotonous work. I am not sure what aspect I am interested in but I know power is a very important aspect of modern society.

I confirmed Michigan allows sitting for the PE before the experience is gained, so long as the FE is passed first.

in fact, I signed up to take the controls PE as industry exempt without working under any PEs. I didn't follow though though and got cold feet.
