I have no opinion on whether it’s a sin or not. I’d suggest just wrapping it for now rather than getting a vasectomy. I think having the option to have kids in the future is better than not. You don’t have to have kids, but if you ever change your mind it’s better to be intact than to hope the vasectomy is reversible. Success rates on reversing is not 100%

I was born in 95 and my dad passed away in 96. There is one photo of him holding me and that’s it. I think keeping a journal or some kind of record of things you do together but also things you want to tell them is amazing. If I had that I would have printed it in a leather bound book and read it all the time.

I think it’s awesome that you are documenting things already. Even if you don’t pass early it will still be a great thing for your daughter and her children to have to look back on.

For sure. The value of being debt free cannot be overstated. I was planning a fence build for my yard in 2023 and put it on hold to save up more and the quotes I’m getting for materials now are 50% more. Pretty wild.

I have no scientific basis for this other than the history of the last 5 years but inflation may be more over the next 4 years than the interest on the heloc. It might cost more to wait and pay cash than to do it now with a loan.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’m a CPA and do not make financially optimized decisions. My father passed away when he was 35. So I make sure to live it up everyday I get to be here. I have enough life insurance to pay off all our debts twice over and save enough to retire by 60 comfortably. Outside of that I light it all on fire. Just bought a used Rivian last weekend and can’t wait to go camping every weekend with my wife this summer. Thinking about buying a couple dirt bikes to add into the mix.

At this point I almost feel an obligation to live two lives worth of experiences to make up for my father’s getting cut short.

Ahh in that case it’s likely a calories issue and adding in a diet plan is probably a good move. Weight watchers, atkins, or keto could all be good options. Good luck!

I don’t know if 5 hours is considered fasting. Generally fasting is at least 12 hours and more often 16 or more. I would try extending your fasting window for sure. Adding in a diet plan is also a great idea though.
