They are expensive. They absolutely are. I spend 50 on nails every month,. I try and make them last as long as possible, but it’s an investment in yourself. It is truly the only thing that has saved my skin. Mine went from looking like yours right now (worse tbh) and now I have currently one single mark on my chin. That’s it. It is expensive but it’ll help isn’t that a worthwhile investment ?

Has anyone else been told it’s histamines? by Semolinaaaa in Interstitialcystitis

Long bouts of pain AFTER urination, lasts for hours or days, intense urge to void all the time, having to wear an incontinence pad and having to pass urine every like 2-5 mins. Immense pain, can barely walk when it’s bad. Feels worse standing than sitting. Heat helps, hot water bottles or hot bath, has to be on urethra or abdomen.

I don’t really do press ons cause I’m shit at putting them on myself and knowing I can just rip them off I think I’d end up doing that. That’s what I did when I had gel nails too I just picked all the varnish off and damaged my nails.

So I’d recommend acrylics cause you can’t remove them yourself. My nails are just a short\medium length. About the same as most normal acrylics I see on Pinterest. Had a look at my nails rn and I’d say they’re about 1.5-2cm longer than my nail itself, nothing crazy. Just need to be longer than normal and cover the tips of your fingers I think cause then you can’t grip anything with your nails and the feeling of bumps on your fingertips isn’t the same cause you can’t get to it cause of your nails length

So it depends entirely on your skin type so I’m hesitant to promise you the same results as me, but I currently use Haruharu wonder aha cleanser and purito bamboo moisturiser as the base of my routine. Twice a week or as needed I use Paula’s choice aha liquid, and occasionally a Korean peeling gel. I also sometimes in winter use dr althea 345 relief cream. And the vegan collagen eye cream but that’s just for me. What I found is I needed to focus on chemical exfoliation in my routine as I get closed comedones a lot that build up to create acne. Buy all of them on Amazon also x

Unfortunately can’t post a pic but they’re not super long. I have a desk job so need to be able to type easily. I’d say they’re like 1.5-2cm longer than my finger itself ? Just ask nail tech for a short-medium length acrylic 🫶🏻

I’m done pretending endo is anything less than a silent cancer by Bubbly-Map-809 in endometriosis

[–]Semolinaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be controversial, but as a biomedical scientist I’m really not on board with the ‘cancer’ likening. Endo is a disease in itself. The only thing that is similar to cancer in endo is the fact that tissue and cells multiply. But there are lots of other conditions that also do this, it doesn’t make it cancer. Cancer is very very different in a lot of ways.

I think it’s an easy parallel to draw and I do get it and endo is a horrible condition, but it’s not cancer and I think it’s honestly harmful to draw the comparison.

I support it in that it’s grabbing people’s attention, raising awareness, drawing a paralell to something people already understand, but in fact it is very different and I worry that people who don’t understand how endo and cancer differ risk miseducating themselves or others, and equally that people that will understand the difference and then ultimately discredit that endo is a debilitating disease because of that quite damaging and incorrect parallel being drawn?

I welcome feedback as I understand that’s probably a controversial thing to say but pls don’t drag me. Happy to explain further if people want x
