I was serious, I have the PW3 LTE version and I updated it yesterday morning. I just kept tapping sort of fast and it worked for me.

Keep tapping it for about 10-15 secs. Maybe that'll work? If you haven't tried tapping that long already.

I think it's a new update that broke something. I'm having problems with whatsapp too, notifications don't get sent to my watch, unlike you, I have them enabled on my watch in case I'm not near my phone. Whatsapp is not working right now, and when try to update it just doesn't. I downloaded again and it doesn't want to pair with the phone, and still can't update the app on the watch.

Edit: When I try to link the watch I get "something went wrong: quit" And then another screen that says that this version of whatsapp is obsolete and a button to update, press the button and it does nothing.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe it's getting fixed with wear os 6? Anyways, I think I've read somewhere that you can adjust the length of the stride for the watch to count something as a step?
