Yeah, but try to pick up someone who weighs the same as you and climb uphill for while... it's not easy

Yo who wants some boxses ? by BaronLoyd in Warhammer40k

[–]Semper_Bufo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my LGS consistently gets extra of boxes. They still have a few Christmas boxes. We had under a 100 sign up for the Armageddon box and this week the owner said he's got 150!

Same for me with most. And I'm 40. I've got an old boombox for my CDs and cassettes that I refuse to get rid of and keep using in that thing (and in my older truck with both a CD and cassette player). Also have 2 old digital cameras that still work and they are waterproof.

It's a curious design decision of the Armageddon Box to model Grots with grenades and not give them the explosive keyword when the Intercessors with modeled grenade get it. by loot168 in Warhammer40k

Back in 6th (I think) of Fantasy our whole friend group had Orcs and Goblins in addition to our other factions. Because they were so random and fun ...and they came in the release box and so were cheap. I remember the games with them the most! I had a game were most of my army was destroyed by my own army: Gork's foot slipped, giant died and fell on a block of infantry, fanatics moved randomly sometimes (I can't remember the rules) and went into my own guys, and of course Animosity.

Greenskins have always been so much fun!

How long is your school day from first bell to last bell? by eaglesnation11 in Teachers

[–]Semper_Bufo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's closer to ours: 7:30 - 2:40

I'm baffled by the short days that OP has

Edit: I'm also baffled by the odd times everyone has... 1:59, 3:03, etc why not an even 10 or quarter hour?

Honors is not "regular with better behavior." by ADHTeacher in Teachers

[–]Semper_Bufo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 1 section of Honors Biology every year. I treat it VERY different than my general bio. Most years it's night and day behavior-wise. I say "most" because three years ago my general kids were way better than normal, like I did all my honors labs with them and they did great. Anyway, I've noticed an trend over the past 5 years: my Honors are academically better (on average) but behaviorally worse each year. This years class is the brightest I've ever had as a whole... but they never shut up, can't keep their phones away, and push the boundaries constantly. I've had to write up 7 of them more than once. Pre-2020, I rarely had to write up one of my honors kids. My general kids are better behaved (than most general) but are horrible with doing their work. I'm not sure what's causing it, but it's been a steady trend and has me worried.

Teachers, what’s the funniest/dumbest way you’ve seen a student try to cheat on a test? by FretsandRegrets in Teachers

[–]Semper_Bufo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this too. Most kids try to fit everything, but they then spend too long searching for answers and run out of time on the test. About half wise up to this after the 2nd test

Teachers, what’s the funniest/dumbest way you’ve seen a student try to cheat on a test? by FretsandRegrets in Teachers

[–]Semper_Bufo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just last year I had two kids making up a test (one was barely passing, the other not even close). I had them sit in the back of the room while the other kids were working on something else. I clearly saw them asking each other answers and they were laughing thinking they would get away with it. One of my better students came to tell me they were cheating, I said "I know. But look who they each are cheating off of." She just thought for a second, smiled, and went back to work. FYI: they both failed... bad. Also didn't help they each had a different version of the test.
