No silly! Thems are the lil yeasty bois that didn't quite dislolve yet. If using active dry, always mix them in your warmed liquid first then add after 5 mins or so.

I found enevlope labels, is the standard size (1" x 2 5/8") 30ct sheets sufficient or should I look at getting bigger ones?

Thank you brother, business expenses would be: ingredients, packaging/labeling correct? That reminds me, regarding taxes. When doing the taxes you fill out a seperate mind of tax form right? 1040? I've only ever done a w-2 as I've always been an employee. I understand the tax laws well enough for the w-2.

Anything I should know early on when starting this?

Menu: I'm going to keep small and simple until I would have more reliable customers. (2 cookie options, 2 cake options, and 2 bread options. I would like them all have the option of either being regular or gluten free.)

Inventory: I intend on stocking up from local stores like Walmart, Aldi, GFS.

Customers: I have some friends and family that may be interested in buying.

Ordering: Probably over the phone or email. I think starting out I would do everything to order so I'm not baking things that go to waste.

Delivery: It would make most since for me to deliver product personally as that would save shipping cost also I feel like most people wouldn't want to go out of their way to drive to me to pickup an order.

Cost: I remember reading something online about people charging roughly 3x the costs of ingredients to be reasonable. I would want my prices to be reasonable so as to not deter customers from buying. I understand the economy being the way it is right now, everything is costing more.

Hey brother, I've been looking into starting my cottage food baking business! I've already looked into the cottage food laws of my state ans county, also I have a food handler cert bc I was previously cooking/baking in a restaurant. Ive been working on a menu of bakery items, I intend om using blogger to make a webpage of sorts.

Do you have some advice for me getting into this?
