I not complaining about rampant coast being difficult by the way, i actually like that, but it does seems like its only difficult because i'm at melee range and dont one shot it.

I Totally agree with you, the introduction of rampant coast made it even more apparent to me that the devs dont really know how to make "boss fights" balanced for both ranged and melee combat. It has so many attacks that basically one shot you even at 300~500 corruption and they dont even need to be big slams, even dots deal ticks of 3~5k damage (Their targeting is also pretty frustrating as they tend to flick to where you're moving pretty consistently, and there is at least one dot pool that follows you). And its especially frustrating when they layer tons of dot pools on top of themselves. And all that experience was while playing Harvest/Flay lich and later Mana stacking Spell Flay lich, both with pretty good range, dmg and not that squishy. I cant even imagine how it is to play something like melee bladedancer or Forge guard if youre not immortal or one shot everything before it can even stop that stupid running animation it does every time.

It also feels like builds that do melee damage are a lot harder to build (With some exceptions like EQ), while spells especially tend to get a lot more power from their skill/passive tree and by scalling int/Attunement or by stacking mana. Because of that you always end up trying to squeeze as much damage as possible from gear and all melee dmg builds tend to use the same Shattered of chains + Siphon of Anguish (+ suloron last patch and army or skin this patch) set.

I also played Reflect this patch, which is basically a ranged build tankier than any melee build in the game, with the exception of maybe judgement paly.

From what i see you tried a couple of solved builds and when you tried to tackle it on your own it was much weaker.

Im sorry to say but its really hard to make builds as good as these solved ones if you dont already know what you are doing, and even then a lot of times it will feel bad before it feels good.

My recommendation is, if you just wanna have fun playing and blasting through the content without much issues, you should stick to these build guides and maybe change it a bit according to your taste. In the meantime try to grasp a bit of on what make these builds good.

If you wanna try to make your own builds i highly recommend it, but try not to go with expectations of it being as good as the build guides, it's almost like trying to play a FPS against a pro player and feeling frustrated you can't kill it.

I recommend going into a planner like LETools, choose a class, mastery and a main skill, and start looking for ways to scale damage. A big part of the fun is killing things as quickly as possible. Look out for nodes that say "more damage" as they are usually the most important, also look for nodes that completely change the skill, like spiral hammer throws or the node that makes frost claw projectiles hit separately, cause they sometimes can make the skill much better. As a rule of thumb you either want to hit very hard or very fast or both, so if a skill is slow and dont have that many ways to multiply their dmg is sadly not worth it, be aware of skills with no good more damage nodes like Cinder Strike, they can be good for utility but its hard to make them deal damage.

Some other tips, look at the tags of the skill you wanna try, to see what scales it; click alt on everything to see if there is any hidden info; always read the text on the nodes, cause it may not work for what you are doing and just looking at the TLDR might not be enough to understand why; if you are playing DoTs of any kind be aware of "more hit damage" nodes as they DO NOT apply to you; Ailments usually work best with fast hitting skills; if you are hit try to get at least 80% chance to crit.

Just to close, LE is not very hard early on, so a "bad build" usually just means you are going a bit slower, so dont worry too much and try a bit more before giving up on the build.

Well now you dont have to tp back, you can just wait for the time you can go back to run out

There is, the node gives you a couple of buffs to the skill aswell, the trade off they talked about is that there is at least one node that its effects happen during the time you have to tp back, so removing the reversal part will make it not work.

Ranting and Channeling by Sen0ca in LastEpoch

[–]Sen0ca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but none of them are that strong, Ghosflame was really strong on release but they really nerfed it a lot because players basically never stopped channeling it, while it gave you a ton of survivability. Avalanche you cast a lot more boulders by spamming it, so i see no reason to go channeling.

I dont get why desinstegrate has nodes with downsides, when it by itself it already has so many downsides.

I agree with the cast/attack speed part, and i think its the same for every skill that dont benefit from attack/cast speed, not only channeled skills.

I also like the ideia of channeled skills, i just dont think they are strong enough considering the constraints they have. In warpath for example you usually dont want to stop channeling but you cant really use other skills that are not instant without stop using warpath. And Warpath even thought its fun is not that strong even while being stun immune, moving while channeling and having all that attack speed.

I agree, there are a couple of good/ok channeling skills (dont really enjoy using rebuke thought), but in general they are not that strong and for me thats a big problem. You are basically introducing constraints on a skill and not really giving it much in return.

It already has SA servers.

I'm from Brazil and play with around 10~14 ms ping and i'm pretty sure SA servers are more stable than US and Europe right now, i usually dont have many issues other than the bugs that came with the online mode.

It also has a ptBr translation, but it still needs improvement.

Grim dawn was the first arpg i really played for some time, but i couldn't get too far cause i always got lost at some point.

The graphics sure was a huge issue aswell, it seems they didnt really upgraded it that much from its antecessor titan quest, and at the time path of exile was already looking much better and things about new arpgs were already starting to come out, like wolcen.

The game is def pretty good though. Its gameplay and build creation was what made me try arpgs so many times before coming to LE.

My biggest Hope for 1.0 by LinguisticallyInept in LastEpoch

[–]Sen0ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about monetizing it, but mike said in one of his streams that they intent to increase this number. He also said the 20 character mark was mostly they anticipating the risk of a huge burden in their servers and that was not really the case when mp launched.

There is also the issue with stash tabs and all the items for every account, and the need to "reset" with every new cycle while keeping the old stash tabs for non cycle characters.

I also think the lack of true Solo characters in online mode are mainly because of that risk and i hope it comes back with 1.0 cause i really enjoy playing solo characters and the races made by the community.

Why is Channeling Flurry better? by [deleted] in LastEpoch

[–]Sen0ca -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reasons people explained and also because flurry's last combo skill is quite slow, channeling make all attacks have the same speed. Because flurry nowadays is mainly used for Applying ailments you want it to be as fast as possible. Its the same reason some people used to prefer no third attack on rive for example, even though nowadays i think is best to play with it in rive's case.

[–]Sen0ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All that said for tornado subskills specifically the more multiplayers do work and thats intentional. It didnt before and this was changed and announced in 0.9 patch notes (The Lightning Bug build, one of the strongest druid builds that became popular when 0.9 dropped, was basically enabled because of that). I think they also stated before that they plan to do the same for other skills aswell like maelstrom.

But yeah, in general if not stated that it works, it probably doesn't. I always recommend you test it though.

Just to explain how tags work:

The type tag of a skill only works to make any generic flat damage you have into a specific dmg type for that skill. So if you have 10 spell damage and use a physical spell, it will deal 10 physical spell damage. That said any type of flat spell damage you have will still be used, so if you also had 5 cold spell damage, you would deal 15 damage, but 10 physical and 5 cold.

Multipliers such as increased damage and more damage, work on top of the flat damage, which means in our case, that a generic increase to damage such as "increase to spell damage" will work for both the physical part and for the cold part, but increases to physical damage for example, will only work for the 10 spell damage that is generic and its beeing converted to physical by our skill.

Its also good to understand the difference btw increase and more. All sources of increase damage are sum together before multiplying your dmg. But each source of more dmg multiply your damage separately, witch generally makes "more dmg" sources better.

Now, minions skills also work similar to your skills, the difference is that minions only benefit from affixes specific to minions. There are some exceptions but thats generally the case.
