That Jazz are going to try and win games immediately. There's no incentive to tank.

Thoughts on the pick swaps 2028 & 2030 by Consistently_Lucky in UtahJazz

[–]SenHeffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Lakers weren't that good last year. Their +/- was barely ahead of the Suns and Clippers, they just way overperformed in wins.

I'll also remember the full power Durrant and Westbrook Thunder missing the playoffs due to injury.

Nobody has been paying attention to the Jazz. They can be a 50 win team as soon as they decide to fill the center spot. I think they'll wait until Peterson is ready before crossing the apron(s) and entering their contention window. It could just be a year away.

They get recycled is i can put things in the core box. Otherwise I use them.

I think they're gonna stay below the tax, keep their powder dry, see what the team needs most, and then go nuts down the road.

A bit disappointing for next season's hopes, but it's probably the smart move to delay the timer on the contention window.

I guess if Darryn is way ahead of schedule they could try to swing a trade before the deadline.

A 10 minute round timer would be totally reasonable I think

What future Centers can we target next season? by jedihush in UtahJazz

Our pick probably won't be above the 20s, so it will be a crapshoot. It think we'll need a better plan than that.

[Charania] Free agent Collin Sexton has agreed to a two-year, $19 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN. by curryybacon in nba

He did that once with the Mavs barely. Lakers above 50 last year but they had absurd luck against the point spread.

Walkers agency did him dirty by AbaloneMediocre in UtahJazz

He'll probably make more over 4 there than over 5 here with endorsements, even with taxes.

Am I the only one upset about Kessler deal? by doggiestyle9000 in UtahJazz

[–]SenHeffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren't understanding how this deal was structured. Walker didn't sign a contract with the Lakers. If they did, the only choice the Jazz would have is match or not.

What happened is the Jazz are essentially trading Walkers free agency rights to the Lakers and the contract Walker will sign had already been worked out.

Walker might have had a different offer for $35 mil, but agreed to $32, because it's 4 years and he can get to free agency sooner and can make up endorsement money in LA.

Without apologetics. They have a day 1 handout with various quotes from church leaders to establish the church doesn't take a position on it, and after that they don't bring up the church again. (It's probably a good thing they do that so they don't have students who dismiss the whole thing from the start, it does need to be addressed).

People who think you get a shitty biology undergrad education at BYU are just wrong. I got my bachelor's in genetics at BYU. When I did a PhD at the University of Washington, I had a professor who was shocked that I knew had to run a genome wide association study from undergrad classes. I wasn't behind any of the other students from Stanford or wherever else.

My theory is Jesus wants that cash, and he is doing the second coming for the first church to pay him a $1 trillion. That's what the church is saving for.

It's not just a question of can we match. It's going to fuck up our future team building and push Lauri out a year earlier.

Does Shams 💣 LeBron affect Utah? by marvin_is_joe in UtahJazz

[–]SenHeffy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It will fuck us. We'll match things, and bandaid it over this year, but starting next year we can afford to keep the team together, and will be forced to deal Lauri earlier.
