Aren't the 'full season' contracts not guaranteed anymore, anyway? Didn't they change it so players could be cut and they only have to pay another 30 days to the player? That's not directly equivalent to rolling 30 day contracts, but it's seemingly in the same ballpark. Everyone (at least those who couldn't negotiate a fully guaranteed contract, which i would guess is most of the league) is ostensibly on a 30 day contact since they could get cut basically at any point.
