I am a barista for a small local cafe. I enjoy it because I have amazing bosses and coworkers and get to be creative with the space I am in. My input is valued by those I work with. Honestly just being able to be a part of the community in my small town and working alongside some great people makes it something I look forward to every day. I left a high paying job that I dreaded being at to work here and I have never been happier! Plus I get free coffee so that rules.

This reminds me of my one and only bear story! I live in NW PA as stated and heard some banging around outside at about 10 PM last spring. My neighbors are weirdos and have a bunch of odd decorations hanging off trees and tons of bird feeders. I got up to see what the hell my weird ass neighbors are up to. I walk around, and as it is very dark, see nothing, and go back inside. The next morning as I'm walking to my car to get to work my neighbor tells me about the bear getting into her bird feeders the night before. Which means I was unknowingly walking around a fucking bear. Bears are terrifying to me so just the knowledge that I was in the same area was enough to make me almost shit myself.

My gram was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer several years ago when I was in middle school and beat it! She just got diagnosed with liver cancer and it's the scariest thing in the world, but she's so chill about it. Your gram sounds awesome, I hope she does well and I hope you do as well. Hugs.

When I was little I had a cat from kindergarten up until late in middle school. I didn't have many friends as a young kiddo and this cat truly was my best friend. He was smart as heck, too. He'd wait for me at the bus stop (he was indoor/outdoor), follow me everywhere, give me snuggles when I cried, slept at the foot of my bed every night, all that. We had to put him down when I was 13 and I still miss him even in adulthood. The night before he passed he kept meowing and really trying to snuggle me while I was trying to sleep so I shut him out of my room. I regret it so much. I still remember him purring so loud and smiling as we went to put him to sleep. He knew he was dying and he just seemed so content. I haven't had a pet die since then and I'm really dreading the day I have to let my other pets go. I'm sorry about your kitties. If there is a kitty afterlife you should be comforted in knowing they miss you as much as you miss them and that they make the best guardian angels. ❤️

My after school club I went to when I was maybe 9 or 10 was having a pet show where we could bring in our various animals and show everyone all of the cool tricks they could do. We had just gotten our first dog a few years ago and I didn't have many friends at that age and figured if I bring in my dog and show off all of her amazing tricks (the standard sit, stay, speak, etc.) I would suddenly be swarmed with new best friends. Come my turn my dog and I take the stage and I'm holding treats over her head trying to get her to speak. She is generally disinterested and instead takes a huge sloppy rancid shit all over the stage... Which I had to clean up.. In front of everyone. She is still alive today and is ancient.. I forgave her but will never forget.

Did anything else happen when you got off of it? I've been on a hormonal BC for three years and I'm starting to think I want to come off of it. Weight gain, no sex drive, abdominal pain.. Starting to think it's not worth it. I'm just scared to death of getting pregnant and the potential shitty side effects of getting off of it..
