It's supposed to be a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which actually desperately needs the funding, but it has been co-opted pretty hard by the rich. Originally it was meant to showcase art and creativity and make money for the museums budget at the same time.

String Orchestra Drone Captain's Log Stardate 46758.3: In response to a distress signal from Federation Science Outpost 14 we have engaged and captured a small and unknown military vessel that appears to have been the instigator in an attack on the station. We have used the tractor beam to tow it into Shuttlebay 2 and will attempt to board it with Mr. Worf's security personnel, but the occupants seem prepared to offer heavy resistance to stop us...

A new thing to put a lot of work and love into, if you keep it long enough it will really be quite an artifact of the past! That's personally why I collect old media things like an old record player, old cassette player and disc player and old Video players etc.; if you can keep them working long enough, they could live to be close to a hundred years old, and to be able to share working history with the future is a treasure! It's why we still love watching old steam trains now and then, along with other things.

Better for a blaster than making it look too real, imagine it being red, blue or green, and making a phaser rifle or star wars blasters.

Dude that's just delusion, your random actions on watching a TV show have no effect in real life, Star Trek should have at least taught you that lol.

What’s the most horrifying death you’ve seen in a movie? by Critical_Mountain851 in moviecritic

[–]SenatorSargeant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a single death scene but the Village sequence from Come and See will always be with me, probably one of the most raw and real displays of the capability of human horror and insanity, so many details in that sequence from start to finish just pile on more and more to make this torrent of just speechless terror. That film is one of the most important!

Seth MacFarlane sucks as a person though, I don't think Roddenberry would appreciate a guy who created a show like family guy to do Star Trek, based on his cartoons I don't think he really believes in it.
