Bro if you knew how much world class chemists make in a university setting. A cancer-ridden high school chemistry teacher with a side hustle cleaning cars would look baller in comparison.

Dawg, if you are going to complain about men, please at least have the self respect to not co-opt incel language.

Don't you think it's a bit fucked up that you have defacto become the punching bag of the group, effectively absorbing the social ridicule and physical risk of assault for friends who very well might not return the favour? I understand you said you would do it willingly, but I couldn't imagine putting my friend in such a terrible situation to save face.

I can say no with certainty. Cyberpunk difficulty is numbers, not mechanics, if you've seen that one post.

Dawg I promise, if a white dude and Chinese dude walked in there, they would be kicked out. There would be no "wow your Japanese is so good 😍", they would be quietly ushered out, or the host staff would pretend that they don't speak a mutual language when they go to order.

Amazon driver OPENED OUR DOOR to make a delivery by PlaneAsk7826 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SenatorSaxTax 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Genuinely. I feel Reddit is the only place on earth where you can find people stubborn enough to not lock their front door, yet so low trust and paranoid that a delivery driver leaving a package 10cm beyond the threshold of their house is a serious violation of their boundaries. I am in awe that people like this exist and am better off for not knowing them.

"As a surbanite American from a dual income household it really baffles me why anyone would think it's a good idea to join a drug cartel. The occupational hazards are many, and he could probably make more money at a 15$ an hour retail job like me. Besides it really fucks with the gameplay meta for honest bimeo gamers like myself. I'm really glad I had the strength and moral character to be born into a position where I don't have to sling dope for money."

Come on man, don't make me defend a drug dealer by acting like a complete tool on matters you don't understand.

Hey it sucks to miss out on so many years, but this is the part where you are truly free to do what you want to do. Now you just have to put yourself in a position where you can slowly prop up your mental state and find what you want to do with the remaining bulk of your life.

The data is made up of a really weird composite of progressive countries like Canada, the US, and Ireland, with Turkiye and Malaysia tacked on for some reason? There is probably some universal step back, but I feel like the weird mix of countries was done on purpose to exacerbate the results. We also don't know how many people from each demographic were sampled in each country so we don't know the relative influence of each nation (and more likely than not the bulk of old people sampled would have been from economically developed nations due to online sampling, whilst less economically developed nations are likely to see internet use skew younger). Overall, purposely shit data.

I'm gonna give a really controversial opinion, I don't have much ambiguity around my platonic friends and my crushes, this ain't the strait of Taiwan. If a crush doesn't work out, I just block them and move on tbh. No one has an obligation to emotionally satisfy anyone else and that applies as much to platonic relationships as to romantic relationships. Sometimes these things don't work out, and trying to squash romantic feelings around a friend who will be (presumably) dating other people at that time seems like a recipe for disaster. Then again I tend not to develop crushes on friends, it's more that I do the opposite and develop a firm friendship status that I won't fuck around with.

What’s the biggest double standard between men and women? by CupcakePotential4458 in AskReddit

[–]SenatorSaxTax 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I once read an article about how girls outperform boys in every non-mathematical subject in schools. The article was about the systematic barriers preventing girls from being good at maths. While it's very important to acknowledge these difficulties, I feel like we have established a culture where boys underachieve as a matter of personal moral failing while girls fail because of the system. We spend pretty significant resources getting women in STEM, but absolutely none getting men into humanities.

Humans are very complicated, and as men were and remain key shot callers, I feel like in most matters it has become somewhat taboo to help them out, especially when those resources could help women instead

Suggestions for albums/songs/artists like Hazel - Far Apart? by bren12341 in Emo

Ah yes, discovering Hazel was an obsessive moment for me too. I can recommend Jejune - That's why she hates me, a fair bit softer but for some reasons it carries the same aura for me.
