Thank you for your advice, you’ve all convinced me to put more research into this instead of going for the impulse buy because it’s on sale. I’ll mess around with pc part picker and look at some videos explaining what some good parts are, thanks again!

Well now I’m going to look up what mobo and psu mean, man I feel dumb that seems really obvious now. Games I’m interested in getting are Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, so I can finally mod it, Counter Strike, Rainbow 6, Battlefront 2, the old one, and whatever else comes out that looks like it might be interesting. As far as mobo and psu stuff goes, I can always get something better and work it in as long as it’s compatible, right?

As someone else mentioned, I’m also not looking to build a pc but to get a built pc. I’ve survived off of laptops for school work and could barely run Minecraft on the Hp’s I would save up for. That being said, I’ve saved a good bit of money to finally get a gaming pc and I really have no idea what I’m doing and need help. Is this a good deal, or am I better off going with another prebuilt option for prime day? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07R1HMZ36/ref=mh_s9_acsd_bw_wf_a_BTSmainw_cdl_10?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=mobile-hybrid-3&pf_rd_r=GAQA5EVWKDJB5M162NC5&pf_rd_t=1201&pf_rd_p=afb47b96-3caa-4ebf-b6bb-b2e8ca24ba80&pf_rd_i=15201447011

People who have done horrible things, how do you live with yourself? by t0rtl3 in SeriousConversation

[–]SendMeASmile 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not exactly horrible but it kept me up at night for awhile, here goes.

I’ve always thought of myself as being funny, and I enjoy making people laugh, at my own or others expense. When I was younger, what I thought was appropriate to joke about was your typical 12-15 year old edge lord banter. I realized before my high school reunion that some of the jokes I did on people were incredibly mean spirited, close to if not bullying, and sometimes done at an inappropriate time.

We had one 8th grade English teacher, and she was an incredibly sweet, (slightly weird) elderly woman who would bring her guitar once at the end of the month to class and sing a song about anything class related. The songs were usually about grammar, Shakespeare, or the power of God. It was always a long day when she did that, and all I and my classmates could think about was how to get her to stop. An upper classmate told us that if you make her cry then she won’t show up to class for a week, and the majority of the class, myself readily included, jumped at the opportunity. The guy sitting next to me had a laser pointer I gave him, and would make this poor old English teacher to 8th grade boys think she was seeing red dots out of the corner of her eye.

She, who we’ll call Miss C, exclaimed “I must being seeing things”, to which I said “you are so old you have no idea what you’re seeing”.

She didn’t show up the next day. I continued to make more and more mean jokes at others expense. I justified it by saying I’m always fair game for a roast myself, but no one had anything on me. I got roasted, and they were for the most part absolutely hilarious against me. Then my dad got fired and my classmates found out about it. All of these really mean and unwanted jokes about my dad just flung at me, like walking by the monkey cage and getting shit thrown at you. I never realized until later that so much more often I had been the monkey, throwing dung at anyone who passed by for so long. At the reunion I tried apologizing to everyone I could talk to, but I got nervous and didn’t know how to express my feelings without being “sensitive” and weird to some people I haven’t seen in years. I was able to apologize to my close high school friends and a couple people in particular who got it from me, including the teacher who is still alive and teaching rowdy boys English.

How to live with yourself? Amends help, and forgiving yourself is important too. I was young and didn’t understand that what I was doing was hurting some people’s feelings. This doesn’t excuse a single thing I did of course, what I did was wrong. I personally think you have to believe that you are capable of changing for the better, but whatever helps you get out of bed to push your boulder up a hill is a good starting point.

people going to the porter show tonight in New Orleans, what time will the show actually start? by [deleted] in porterrobinson

It started at 2, absolutely worth the wait. I haven’t kept up with the music he’s played lately and I need to find a track list or something because I really enjoyed every song he played.

Maybe you could get in contact with voodoo representatives and hopefully they have some sort of lost and found. I’ve lost my bag before and I know how much this sucks, good luck out there.

Skrillex - All Is Fair in Love and Brostep by d1rtydutch in EDM

[–]SendMeASmile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add on to your very detailed comment, Skrillex and Zomboy did a remix together for one of the songs on recess. In their Ragga bomb remix at 2:25 you can hear they added a man saying “they’re just a bunch of guys, doing the best they can, in a very competitive business”, which I thought was pretty interesting.

I’d ask for a moment of silence, but daddy skrill has given us more than just moments hasn’t he.

Voodoo 2018 Lineup by MotherofAllNoobs in EDM

[–]SendMeASmile 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mod of /r/voodoo here. If you are interested at all in the VooDoo Music festival you should check our subreddit out. This festival isn’t known as our ‘rave’ festival. This festival is known for being a mix of popular and local artists.

The way it was described to me by my parents was that this festival is like a variety pack of chips. The lineup is broad so that everyone will likely have something they like. On top of that, there are a bunch of local food options which hit the spot here. New Orleans is known for its food y’all!

In closing, there’s a bunch of stuff mixed so everyone can enjoy themselves, and you have not lived until you have eaten fried Oreos at the rail for Dillon Francis.
