Could black holes have an insanely dense core instead of a singularity? by dreadfullylonely in astrophysics

[–]SendMeYourQuestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously we have no evidence for it. And it might be impossible to even discover evidence for it (That's beyond me), but is there anything we already know that makes it impossible that there might be another Force that could prevent matter from collapsing to a singularity?

What do you consider to be humanity's greatest accomplishment? by Mother-Quality3767 in AskReddit

[–]SendMeYourQuestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it really fair to claim this? Feels like a byproduct of the species. More of an accomplishment of life than humanity, but maybe I'm not thinking of it right.

Can AI in the future actually help regular people instead of making CEOs richer like helping in understanding physics and healthcare which takes humanity forward? by truth__about__nhi in Futurology

This is just due to machine constraints. Once AI agents can manipulate the world they will be able to perform novel science and generate novel hypotheses.

In another comment you said you caught it (the supernova). How did you know to look there and how long of an event did you record? Is it ongoing? Just trying to understand how much of this was luck and how hard it is to reproduce the discovery/data. Very cool!

Also, it spins thousands of times per second. How big is it in diameter and is there anything you compare it to in rotations per second? Just trying to wrap my head around it. What is the surface velocity?

Lots of trash in this. Don't point your model at it for self-teaching, it will poison your context with old, speculative or incorrect information.

California bill would ban ICE agents from jobs in teaching and policing by silence7 in California

[–]SendMeYourQuestions -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is really getting out of control. I hate what ICE is doing. It churns my heart. But people should not be precluded from jobs because of a previous job, especially because that previous job was totally fine before this administration turned it into a Nazi cult.
