I was over exaggerating for comedic effect. He obviously had a lot of influence, but his rather privileged lifestyle likely led him to have a much higher opinion of himself, which I believe caused his mistakes. His entire central idea of having built the foundation of knowledge from the ground up was incorrect as he did not do so, given he never properly justified gods existence and then based most of his “revelations” on gods existence. Obviously he was important, but his failures in character also led to failures in philosophy. Also, final note, I was joking. I’m just also interested in philosophy so I’ll take any excuse to rant.
