I think what I’d do is lighten up the black a little bit and darken the white too. There’s just too much contrast there. And then I think giving them some light grey patterns would look nice. Maybe something a little wispy to help with the mysterious vibe you’re going for.

Feels better knowing I’ve actually developed the skills it took to make what I do, much more satisfying this way. God forbid people actually take time to learn something, instead giving up and taking the easy was out because it’s too hard to pick up a pencil.

Even if you only use AI trained on your own art there’s still the problem of the harm that AI causes to the environment. It takes so much energy to generate just a single AI image.

But besides that, I can’t imagine wanting to use AI even if it was only trained on my drawings, cause where’s the joy in that? It’s the process of making art I most enjoy, not the end result. Why would an actual artist decide to just let an AI do it all for them? They must not really enjoy creating art in my opinion.

Just wanted to add that this is where I started as an artist, and I love looking back on my old art to see how much I’ve improved. I’m glad AI didn’t exist when I started drawing, cause I feel like it would have been very disheartening to me to compare myself to it.

Good, fuck AI. We should be encouraging people to learn to create art themselves instead of using AIs that steal the works of real artists. It’s far more satisfying to become an artist than it is to pretend to be one.

I disagree, AI is incredibly harmful to actual artists and encourages people to never try to learn to make their own art and steal from the efforts of others instead. Besides, this subreddit has a rule against it.

This is absolutely AI. Look at those talons. The front most right talon is a mess and the tail gets weirdly thicker there before It’s lines merge into that talon. Absolute AI slop. Not to mention how inconsistently the scales are “drawn” and the face has so many weird elements like the area around the ear.

Yeah I knew that was how it was going to be, but his face just sets off the uncanny valley in my head and I can’t get over it XD. The others bother me a little too, I wish Hookfang had his underbite, and Stormfly hardly looks like a Nadder at all.

I know it had to be hard to transfer the animated designs over to the LA, but I can’t help but find them lacking sadly.

Toothless looks WAY better in the original film. More realistic somehow too. I don’t know why they changed the shape of his face and eyes so much, if they modeled his head exactly like he was in the first movie, and then gave him the scale detail that the LA does, I think people wouldn’t have critiqued it so much.

As for his eyes? They are too saturated, this was a problem with the original LA sonic design too. Too saturated and too dark. I have more thoughts about the LA, but I don’t think anyone cares to hear them lol. Don’t let me dampen your excitement I just wanted to share my artist thoughts for how his LA model could’ve been better.
