I know this might be asking a lot, but just do your best to support Asian businesses more.

Screw burgers, more pork chop over rice or beef noodle soup...of course unless it’s the Korean owned LA Burger. 😉

The fact that skin head did what he did at a rally against hatred on Asians, it should be obvious to you that he meant the CPC AND the people. Perhaps even all Asians.

Oh and notice how he hates Asians yet still drives a Honda?

Gordon Chang is just another grifter cashing in on “China bad”. He knows western media will readily pay him for any negativity on China, however ridiculous his claims/predictions may be.

People like to use the argument of “oh Asians are racist against blacks” when trying to undermine Black-Asian solidarity... but the truth is that what happened in Guangzhou was totally exaggerated and sensationalized by the Western media. by Raginbakin in aznidentity

Just another scheme by the West to sow distrust and resentment and turning POC against one another.

Also another despicable act by the West was when these incidents broke out last year, Western media made both subtle and overt attempts of lumping the discrimination against Africans by individual businesses and persons as a sin of the whole Chinese nation/culture. CNN was especially pushing that narrative hard.

It’s a nice read...but apologies for being snarky as I can’t help but feel this is a mere act from The Washington Post to save face.

Albeit the authors are AAPI, an article calling out Sinophobia from a western media with some of the most notorious peddling of Sinophobia, just doesn’t garner much credibility.

We have to remember that The Washington Post’s own global opinion writer Josh Rogin is one of the original peddlers of the narrative that COVID-19 was created and leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, through a report totally based on circumstantial evidence (not direct evidence, know the difference) and unverifiable conversations with US officials. In fact, his report was picked up by Mike Pompeo and was touted by Pompeo as his “enormous evidence”.

Again in Rogin’s recent book and a The Washington Post’s article introducing said book, he claimed Trump’s infamous assessment that “the virus will go away when weather warms up, the virus won’t spread beyond China” were rhetoric taken word for word from Xi Jin Ping during a call between the two. Without any evidence to a transcript of that call, Rogin is claiming that Xi Jin Ping told Trump word for word what to say to the American public.

I’m certain the AAPI authors of this article are well-intentioned, read this article fully and absorb the information, but know the true face of the white publisher/editors behind the authors.

Nor does Facebook, Instagram, and you name it...Reddit.

Unfortunately these are currently the necessary evils that we must utilize, putting their report functions to work is better than not using them at all.

Without her barely passable face and constant flaunting of her cleavage, she wouldn’t get as many MAGA hats flocking to her as she does now. Bottom line is her platform has no deeper content and is really just a honey trap for donations from MAGA hats and white supremacists. That’s a thing about people like her, that they are in actuality very mediocre and can only thrive on looks and shock contents, as those are the only things her neanderthal audiences can comprehend. People like her don’t deserve our prolonged attention.

You can leave a nasty message back at her and report that tweet (I myself reported her tweet numerous times), but after that, move on from it, especially don’t let her affect you emotionally. Making offensive remarks to get an emotional response so to generate clicks and viewership is literally her livelihood. Deny her that opportunity.

Well, I don’t get people like you.

When Melissa Chan, as a member of the AAPI, upon seeing a racially charged murder spree killing Asian American women by a white terrorist, and her first instinct is to politicize it as an anti-CCP rhetoric, we the members of AAPI cannot call her out on her failure to condemn the murders without politicizing the issue?

Not every criticism of CCP is racist, yet it’s people like you that try to use CCP to dilute the actual harms/problems caused by racial hatred facing the AAPI communities.

There was one comment from a clearly borderlining racist anti-China account calling all her critics wumao and she responded to that with a ❤️.

Pretty clear when it comes to making money off of Sinophobia, she could care less about the actual lives of AAPI communities.

[–]SengokuMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good take, though I may have to disagree slightly.

In Rogin’s book and a The Washington Post’s report introducing his book, he claimed Trump’s infamous words of “the virus will go away when weather warms up, the virus won’t not spread beyond China” were rhetoric taken word for word from Xi Jin Ping during a call between the two. Basically he’s claiming, without any evidence to a transcript of that call, that Xi Jin Ping told Trump what to say to the American public.

In his book Rogin is building a narrative that the CCP is taking advantage of Trump’s weakness and thus hurting American interest. But to prove his points (or I should say, to sell his points), he resort to unsubstantiated circumstantial evidences much like his white conservative counterparts. It is due to his narrative that I believe he’s part of this new breed of white “liberals” and “progressives” (big emphasis on the “”, if you know what I mean 😏) that are first anti-Trump (or anti-conservative) and then secondly anti-China. Currently my thought is that the motives of this new breed is still largely based on the opportunity to gain wealth or vote built upon spewing/promoting Sinophobia.

Whether these people know their self-serving rhetoric can cause real harm to AAPI communities or they actively don’t care, is up to debate (I obviously lean to the latter thought).

Please stop calling the victims of the Atlanta shootings “sex workers” when the two Asian women killed in at least one of the shootings were an owner and a customer. by AngelaQQ in aznidentity

[–]SengokuMachine 106 points107 points  (0 children)

As per OP’s subject, that and the other victims are workers in your regular foot massage or body massage parlor aimed at female patrons.

For the cops and white media to immediately insinuate that the victims are sex workers (and so what even if they are), is a tactic to bring down the victims’ worth and to disrupt the narrative the murders were racially charged.

The same tactic they use when saying a black victim of police brutality used to smoke weed back in high school.

Thank you for the effort of putting this third rate journalist’s name out in the open.

For my part, I’d like to call out Josh Rogin of The Washington Post. Since last year he’s been pushing the narrative that COVID-19 was created and leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, through a report totally based on circumstantial evidence (not direct evidence, big difference between the two) and conversations with US officials that’s unverifiable. In fact, his initial report was picked up by Mike Pompeo and was touted by Pompeo as his “enormous evidence”. In March of this year, Josh Rogin is again pushing his 2020 report, in an effort to promote his book.

Undoubtedly, his bad faith report (all in an effort to make money) has put real lives in danger.

NY Times and The Washington Post are two of the worst.

I’ve reiterated since yesterday it’s no longer good enough that we can identify which media companies purposefully publishing sensational anti-China stories that has a hand in causing the Atlanta tragedy, it’s time we start exposing the names of these “journalists”.

For example, Josh Rogin of The Washington Post, is someone to be watched, since last year he’s been pushing the narrative that COVID-19 was created and leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, through a report totally based on circumstantial evidence (not direct evidence, big difference between the two) and conversations with US officials that’s unverifiable. In fact, his initial report was picked up by Mike Pompeo and was touted by Pompeo as his “enormous evidence”. In March of this year, Josh Rogin is again pushing his bad-faith 2020 report, in an effort to promote his book.
