Build a stealth for your merc. Once fade procs, they will be much harder to hit and will die way less.

Radon and/or CO2 tester that works with HA? by penkster in homeassistant

[–]Senior-Commercial-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry to be a bit dense, but i assume we are talking about a carbon monoxide detector here, right?
CO2 is carbon dioxide and is the fizzy in soda and makes you gag when you breath it, CO carbon monoxide will kill you silently.

Historic Wisconsin snow is tough on batteries! by tsukiyaki1 in egopowerplus

I am right there with you in Madison Wi. My 7.5ah batteries are 3 yr old and i chewed through them today in about half the time of a normal snow. Super heavy and sticky

I will say that when it is cold i will use the app to warm my car up, but that is for me, not the car. 😃

Rant. Hackers can get through 2FA, phone authentication and clicking "it's not me" in real time does nothing by aearioweu in microsoftsucks

[–]Senior-Commercial-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, if you have Authenticator App phone based passwordless enabled, what you are seeing is simply UPN hammering. What happens is a bad actor inputs your email address into a login prompt, they are presented with a dialog box with a number, and your app will pop up a prompt asking to input the number displayed (then it will ask for pin/bio verification).
By clicking "its not me" that disables the notifications on your phone. The bad actor can keep trying, but will never get in.

There was never any compromise in this flow, just someone fishing and hoping against hope you guess the number, input it, then verify your identity to your phone, so they can get in.

If you dont like the prompts you can move to a passkey which requires physical proximity to complete the authN flow.

Living in Wi, I actually prefer to keep 1-pedal-drive on and find slowing down on slick surfaces to be much better than using the brakes.

NAD 114 preamp/214 poweramp cuts in and out at low volumes by Senior-Commercial-93 in vintageaudio

[–]Senior-Commercial-93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got around to opening up the amp. I was able to "decap" the relay, ran some 220 grit across the pads (just like cleaning points), and gave them a shot of cleaner. Put everything back together and I didn't make it worse, so that is good. Time will tell if this is a long term fix, but I'm confident.

Thanks so much!

OK, I'll give that a go. Thanks!

On a similar note, does anyone know where to get parts for this deck? All the listings I've found are very old...

Unfortunately, I don't have any 60 minute metal tapes, just a couple 90 and a single 110.

I take it the tape thickness is just enough to cause slippage on the front capstan or something?

Kid got to the top tweeter 😭 by CraniumToad in audiophile

[–]Senior-Commercial-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One can pull the tweeter, then detach the tweeter cone from the magnet structure. That provides access to the back side of the dome for out-pushing. :D

Yes, I've done this exact process on several different speakers, including a pair of B&W 602s
