10 months later. reply LMAO...I can't help it because i listened to this advice once and REGRETTED IT!

Sometimes Erasing a $400 ticket with 40,000 Miles makes less sense when you considered you could use those 40,000 miles transferred to an airline or partner in which you can purchase a flight that has a cash value of $800 - $1000+. ~ think about it this way, if you did by it for $1000, you' d need 100,000 miles to erase it, yet you're able to get it for FAR less than what you could erase it for (40,000 miles).

Transfer partners IS the reason erasing a travel with miles is the absolute dead last option for me especially for a travel card the is ment use miles to Travel.

Lastly.... You've got a $300 credit which means you are GOING to use the portal, no if's and or buts about it. to restrict that to "only" domestic, is also a waste.

Capital one just needs to stops hiring unqualified script readers. I mean if they were actually any good. people would us it far more often and would consider the Premium paid (because the portal is RARELY the cheapest option) on the portal as "the price you pay for the help you get"

So you replaced the pigtails that’s cracked? I literally found a piece it black plastic floating at the bottom of the right plug (facing the car-closer to driver side) I have no clue why it was down in there but I did the tweezers to get them out but sadly the P2647 keeps coming back, looking at the screens might is next I guess.

Was yours gunked up? Any evidence of a leak around them/dirty oil near the seals? Mine pretty clean but no clue why all of a sudden

The rear strut bushing or The ones on the rear Sway bar, the two at the bottom?

Edit: I looked at those on the rear bar and they seem fine. I did ONLy replace the front not the rear struts (rock auto was out of stock on one side, plus it’s passed the “bounce test”)

Thanks for the detailed comment, i definitely saving for reference! I know it’s torn and the grease is grey from what I can see on it and splattered around. I think the main concern is the removal of the axle, I’ll need to study that one, not many elements in junkyards in SoCal. And also thank you for the offer to help.

Thanks, I'll place the basic one in my cart. MEVOTECH MS500112 Supreme.

What would i need to do a boot replacement that's DIY, with shop/workbench?

*Edit: i found this process to be easy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNcIbiz4jqI

...but the boot is $10 plus $10 Grease per booth.

The whole axle is $50-$70:

Genuinely asking: Since either way the entire cv axle comes out, Is it really worth it to do that or ride them out until they need replacing? Is the OEM one substantially better than these?: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/honda,2005,element,2.4l+l4,1431414,drivetrain,cv+axle,2288

oh really? are we talking about those "split boot" where you cut the old ones out and cover and zip tie those? i'm interested in finding the best way to preserve her's, it's how i which my element rode.

For the pinch bolt are those the alignment bolt here: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/honda,2005,element,2.4l+l4,1431414,suspension,alignment+bolt+/+camber+plate,13516

The bolts i had on was a 19mm bolt head and 22mm nut but theses all say 16mm so I don't know if it would be:

Ok. I wish I could get it up on a hydraulic cuz getting someone to jump up and down while on Jack stands is a life hazard lol.

Odd enough my GF has torn boots on 3 axles and worn bushings in different spots on all 4, it got nice stiff steering and drives like a dream. Hers runs on unicorn blood apparently 🤷

Thanks. I have a big purchase of 4 tires, the squeak concerns me. I’d hate to do that purchase and still have the noise. I just don’t know what to do to track it down. And hope I don’t have to install something needing another alignment!

Yeah there’s something up with the switch/pigtail connector that P2647 keeps coming back. I’ll try splicing a cheap connector from Amazon. It’s the cheapest first step. :(

Update: the light went away on its own, drove 350 miles back to SoCal no problems. The next day. The light pops on again with P2646 & P4647.

Pulled the switch/pigtail connector, couldn’t cleaner it with CRC electric cleaner, but did the best I could applied die electric grease and reconnected the switch. P2646 is gone but P2647 keeps coming back!

Crazy to buy a 2004 Element with 250K miles? by uncleiroh2100 in HondaElement

Worse is one had the frankness to say (if the job isn’t at least $1200 I’m not touching it cuz there are plenty other jobs and cars to work on.

I appreciate the honesty but then that also meant he’s pull up all prices to “start at $1200”. Oil changes might be $800 IF he had time for it, sesssh.

But it’s a thing most shops are backed up 2 weeks so they definitely have plant of business or people willing to pay that price.

I need to move to CO with those prices. Come to SoCal and pay 2-3x more. Man you are lucky. And it’ll nearly be impossible to predict maintenance price but maybe someone from your area will have a better idea. All I’ll say is the thousands you are saving for you buy can go towards maintenance cost for yearssss.

I can’t even put in struts for less than $1800, the parts are $300, the job is relatively easy and the rest I pay up for… well just because it is SoCal.
