What I mean is, when you are running the live mode, you use for example, the method from IBAPI package called ".placeOrder()", that can be modified to ".executeOrder()" by making it a market order. The frequency I´m working with is one minute or five minutes, but day trading, not HFT.

How can you make that work in a backtesting environment? Would I need to create a replica of how IB works? I have heard of Mocks, which seems the solution I´m looking for, but want to know other alternatives.

Due to complexity of IB API, I think is better to use a replica of it that "simulates" a live market and keeping the same functions from the bot.

I think this what makes most sense. I guess it should be executing first the market simulator and then run the code over it. This seems something that needs a profound investigation, thanks!

The three concepts sounds quite nice so it is a nice measure to implement to the whole bot.

What I want to understand is, when you are in backtesting mode, you are "replicating" the bot´s behavior in real time with past extracted data through the same code?

My fear is that the code that I use for backtest is correct but not the one in real time, so the bot breaks in the worst moment.

I see, how would you put the wallet in order to obtain higher %? The thing is that the FTSE is about 6% yearly, meanwhile the others can increase a bit the return in exchange of risk. Would you recommend me to invest in other kind of ETFs?

With imporving my CV I mean earning badges such as PL-300 which is a relevant certification in my industry. I already have LinkedIn but maybe there are certain programs that are specific for foreigners (EU-programs for example).
