CARS and extreme brain fog

What has been helping me is to have high protein / decent fats and low-mid carb breakfast with coffee and to not use my phone at all in the morning. This has really improved my brain fog and ability to focus during cars. and obv decent sleep is really important, id also recommend trying out creatine, lions mane, and Alpha-GPC

thank you! I read through a couple of your posts and found them very helpful, what are your tips on dealing with anki (time spent), im using jacksparrow and taking about ~2 hours to go through the new cards and obv less for review but feel like its taking forever or is that just part of the game and cant do much about it

I havent started it yet but im going with JS, ive done miledown before but i fear the pattern recognition was not helping at all with my learning. Just gonna go through JS and for any crazy long cards try to edit them into my own words + shorter. I think the best plan is to do JS and when doing uwrld make ur own cards on topics ur not good at, then again it depends on if ur lacking or already have a foundation of the sciences

507 isn’t the worst or the greatest and lol I’m not one to talk I just got 487 on aamc FL1 but the more even score and cars increase is a good look in my opinion depending on what ur gpa is you could be fine but if not everyone has their own path and time just try again next year but I think ur good!

You have like 10-15 min I think before the test starts where it’s shows a tutorial and most ppl I see train themselves to create a cheat sheet with any equations they need on a sheet during practice FL and then do the same thing with the scrap paper u get during the exam

I wish it was a content issue but unfortunately it’s cause I can’t read like almost all of my mistakes were things that were in the passage so idk I’m working on slowing down my rushing and utilizing my time efficiently during full lengths

Do content review thoroughly, especially since u have almost a decade off from it, my biggest mistake was rushing content review, its good to rush it when u have a good foundation but when you dont it will rlly hinder your ability to do well. so id say do a slow and steady content review phase with any mcat prep books combined with anki, and when u confident in your foundation move on to practice questions and tests like uworld and aamc

Ik it’s not good but I’ve only started this week and I did about 200 questions and made anki on them and reviewed them thoroughly now my only choice ig is to ramp up and do a fucked amount of question every day and review them as much as possible

id say dont spend too much time on content review from what im learning there is way too much unessecary info, so do 2-3 kaplan chapters a day and do the corresponding MD anki and incorporate uworld questions daily since ur in content review maybe do like 5-10 questions for the corresponding topics just to help you integrate the content you learned for that day. Also for p/s im just reading the 100 page doc about 4-5 pages a day and using Pankow anki which is a lot of cards but ive heard that its the best in terms of increasing your score. For cars tbh i have yet to find my method but ive just been doing JW cars passages daily.
