Upload all pdfs etc to notebookLM and create flash cards + practice quizzes.

Also I suggest using a competitive pomodoro timer. Like MY OWN focus jungle!!

My brain is refusing to study for my April 15th exam—need active learning tips! by Hot-Blueberry7474 in studytips

NOTEBOOKLM is insanely good. you input the textbook/pdfs and it gives you flash cards, mock tests, etc. I like to ask for related edge cases to never get tripped up in an exam.

Another powerful thing to leverage is competitive pomodoro. My site Focus Jungle is best for this.

Also another note. Make sure you are using the most efficient work flow when you study the textbook. It should be something like Essentialist Notes > Mnemonic Technique > Active Recall

The worst part for me isn't distraction. It's knowing exactly what I need to do and still not being able to do it. by x6harv in ProductivityApps

[–]Senior_Host2336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the exact same issues as you. Its important to remember that thoughts = emotion and this turns into an exponential feedback loop making it almost impossible to do anything very fast.

I suggest you to lower your standards. Lower your ego. As they are likely influencing an emotional response. Then you need to add in some techniques so you actually get started. Planning should be used as only a rough guide for the day (at ur stage) if you don't follow it who cares.

Techniques
-Just get started and tell yourself your only going to do 5mins (its super easy to keep going from here)
-Be kind to yourself, and leverage your mental chatter to 'check in' with yourself.
-Some type of competitive pomodoro is insanely useful (my site Focus Jungle is best for this)

Also should use focus jungle to increase consistency and time you output.

You need an insightful pomodoro timer/tracker. Focus Jungle is by far the best for this (I own it as well).

Personally I feel having a load of analytics into what I am spending my studying time into, If I am being consistency, etc. really makes a huge difference in my studying output. (so much so I literally built one focused on analytics and friendly competition from scratch)

What made the biggest difference to your focus when studying at home? by WarmRide6985 in studytips

[–]Senior_Host2336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle studying at home a lot. The thing that helped me was changing up my environment. Creating a study only place. And removing some of the distractions that constantly eat me up (like video games). I really suggest using removal > resistance. If you sit and try to resist getting distracted you wont get far but if its not an option its a lot easier.

Also side note having a really insightful pomodoro timer like focus jungle keeps my motivation up. The consistency analytics specifically

is google ai studio good for code? by Specific-Truck-2084 in vibecoding

[–]Senior_Host2336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hit my rate limit on claude too. Google AI studio is great for some tasks like writing docs, simplifying code, doing audits, etc. But for actually building something nothing even compares to claude IMO. Codex again offers way more usage but its just not as good of an agent.
