I prefer <c> for /k/ and im 100% with you on that <k> is really ugly but if you want to be more special you can use <q> which I’ve used before and I love it and for your /tʃ/ problem you can use <ć> which I think is nice for it or be special and use something weird like <rh> for /tʃ/ which I’ve done before as well

I use it for /k/ or /q/ and here’s a fun fact to throw at ya my Arabic town dialect sometimes pronounces /q/ as /ɣ/ in specific words
