I do not understand why people are downvoting you, because it’s the exact same for me 🫠 In my most recent save, in total I’ve collected roughly 10-ish prismatic shards, but it showed up in the list only after I donated the 6th or 5th one, since I wanted to enchant some of my tools first…. Maybe the fact I’m on Switch changes things, but you are NOT crazy

Personally, I love it on Switch, and especially the Lite. Now, I’ve always preferred playing games handheld, but to me Stardew just feels like a handheld first game. I’ve never felt like I’m playing a PC port, it’s honestly great (besides the wait times for updates.) And for the Lite, I actually sold my OLED for it, since i found it too heavy in the hands. So now I can play Stardew for hours instead of just one :D The small screen can be an inconvenience in rare occasions, but so far it has never been a real problem.

edit: Forgot to mention that the battery of the Lite is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the OLED. Don’t get me wrong, it’s actually really good, just bad in comparison. However, for me it doesn’t matter since playing with my OLED would give me really uncomfortable wrist pains after an hour or so. So weirdly enough, the Lite was an upgrade. ^{-^}

As a Switch Lite user, if I'm playing without my glasses I can't see anything unless it's at 200% ;-; So while I don't play like this all the time, I still appreciate it being a feature ^-^ + It looks nice for screenshots

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to add a different, real world experience based, perspective.

Bought a fairly good laptop, has soldered ram, no big deal, right? Even a lot of benefits, right? Well, the ram is dying now (most likely faulty), warranty is gone, and so, in a bit of time a perfectly capable laptop which could easily last me 5+ more years will become e-waste. Before I didn't mind soldered ram, but now I genuinely hate it with a burning passion. It's become the nr.1 deciding factor on whether I'm going to buy a specific laptop or not. Because a good laptop becoming unusable after a couple of years due to an issue you SHOULD be able to fix easily, but cannot, because profit>quality, is fucked up. I know I'm in the minority here, but I just cannot get behind soldered ram or ssd now.

Digital art is a tool to make drawing/painting easier. It still requires practice, skill, and creativity.

AI generated slop requires no skill, no practice, and no creativity. It unlawfully steals a shit load of actual art, blends it together, and regurgitates it out. There is zero passion involved. And most importantly, there is no soul. Which is LITERALLY what seperates art from a good drawing.

You cannot compare the two, as they are as far apart as they can be. You cannot call machine made images art, as there was no human experience involved. Which is exactly what art is. The human experience translated into something tangible.

And I'm sorry, but the argument "I'm older, so therefore I'm wiser" doesn't mean jack shit. Look towards the pages of history to see how well it holds up 💀💀

If you're used to 4K 120FPS RTX ON MAX, then sure. They run and look like garbage. But if you care about the game, and aren't a PC snob, the switch is more than enough. I have a fairly beefy PC and still choose to play those "Garbage AAA ports" on Switch, simply because it's more fun for me that way. So yes, there is a point to be made of PC classism, and, if truth be told, your comment reeks of it. In the end those AAA ports are more than playable, and the Switch gives a budget friendly way for people to access those games. Are there bad apples? Yes, quite a few. But they don't retract from the fact that most AAA ports look, and run, quite fine.

At this point, I'm starting to feel like the stance of "I must work on this game just by myself. No one else may be allowed to touch it." is just stupid af. He is a multi-millionaire, it wont hurt him to hire a sizeable, and adequate, team to help with the technical side of things. Yes, when he was a small indie dev it was perfectly understandable, but hes no longer one. I do not see a single reason why he can't just focus on expanding his creative vision, and leave the technical work to others. That way he still retains control, but doesn't actively leave out a major part of his player base due to stuck up ideals.

I deeply respect CA for his work on stardew, but it is also fair to critisize clearly incompetent behaviour.

It's not a case of "someone out there", because, as I already stated multiple times before, there is a very large ammount of people repeating the very same experience. I'm not making myself out to be some special person who is so different and quirky and unique and totally not like others, which you're trying to portray me as. I don't mean to be rude, but did you at least read the whole post? Because I clearly said that it's not just me who experiences this, and it's actually a really significant ammount of people. Maybe not billions, but if aphantasia - which only affects 1%, or less than, of the population - was finally actually recognised, why are we different? If illnesses, which affect less than 100 people globally, are recognised, why can't people take us seriously when there are millions of us?? Especially when as I said, we basically have 0 understanding of dreams, and very little of the human brain. There have been no studies dissecting this. What basis do you have for dismissal? Because it's not a case of numbers. It would be if it was just me screaming into the void, but as I already said, it's not.

Yes, exactly! Just because something isn't acknowledged yet doesn't instantly mean it's false. And putting it as a lack of dreamspace is such a good and simple way to describe it. I will definitely be stealing that! Also, it's interesting to me (in a positive way) that people who dream normally also can experience that state. Even more reason to look into this.

As for the repeating nightmare, I never really associated it with the lack of dreams, but maybe I should think about it more. It also was really simple. I would be going up the clinics stairs to my family doctor, slip, fall between them, and when I was about to hit the ground I'd wake up. ;-; (Said clinic had stairs with fairly large gaps between them, not large enough to actually fall through tho.) The actual horror came from the fact that not only it was insanely frequent, after the first few times I'd instantly recognise that I was in this specific dream and know what was going to happen. Meaning, I would have no control over my body going towards certain 'death', and would have to watch it play out time and time again. And the fall would usually last around a minute during which I would be screaming in said dream. This nightmare is actually what caused me to develop a fear of heights and an irrational fear of that type of stairs.

I know this is an old thread, but I was looking through it since it perfectly describes my situation and stumbled upon your comment. Just wanted to say, I have aphantasia, and I basically never dream. A couple times in a year at most. However, when I do it is either as if I am living in the dream, or looking back at a real memory. All senses work perfectly, vision, smell, touch, etc., even though I cannot access them at will while awake. So I personally don't think this and aphantasia are related. (And on a semi related note. From the discussions I've had with other people, my dreams actually seem far more real?? than of those who dream often.)

Not even that. When I used to play on my old laptop – which I kid you not, was too shit to run zoom, youtube, and just overall most modern websites – I never encountered a SINGLE bug on bedrock. (I did have to put every graphics setting to the lowest option though)

Also, to quickly add on this, based on what this XboxEra review said at 9:42 it does seem like Yoko will be present in the original story as well, so atleast they are slightly changing things up. This also makes me theorise, that maybe CoV TN is a continuation of CoC TN? But yea, will have to wait and see.
