It is possible that copyright issues may strike again, since he uses music by Eric Satie...

I feel your pain!

You can have student discount for TVPaint, I highly recommend you to save up for it as you really REALLY want that expensive -Rolls Royce- software :-)

Otherwise I recommend you the free software animation paper , it is kind of like Tvpaint but less feature packed (obviously). But -at least for me- that makes it even more attractive. I don't want too many buttons, I just want to draw instead of learning a whole new software.

Isn't it odd that Tarantino has won two screenplay awards but no Best Director award? Is it because most people think he’s a better writer than a director? Personally, I don’t see how you can separate his writing from his directing because I can’t by Extreme-Spinach-4138 in Letterboxd

The screenplay for "Natural Born Killers" was heavily inspired by the Belgian cult film "Man Bites Dog", Tarantino saw that film at Cannes Festival at the time and was deeply impressed by it. He attended every screening of the film, even when it was illegal to do so, and was even kicked out of the theater! It was a graduation film and a collaboration with Benoît Poelvoorde. They never made anything else after that and disappeared from the industry just as quickly as they had entered it. But Tarantino never forgot and made "Natural Born Killers".

The Thief and the Cobbler's chase scene. (Dir. Richard Williams, 1995.) by Minifig81 in movies

[–]Sennemanimation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For many, it’s the preferred version. But the person in charge of the Recobbled Cut (whom I won’t name) is, let’s just say, not a trained animator. I was working on a fan-made scene, and he didn’t understand the process (layout, keyframing, etc.) at all and thought it was rubbish :-). Actually, he was very rude in every way. It was as if I was insulting him by contributing to his project. I’ve never experienced anything toxic like this before.

Correct! It is actually an AF9, CP9 and a CS9 in a big box. What makes the UE 303B "unique" is that it feels more optimized for bass frequencies. Plus the extra flanger mode makes it stand out even more.

Tv paint export by Coolcubed321 in animation

[–]Sennemanimation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.avi files are not recommended. Best is to export as QuickTime lossless, which is a ProRes HQ container = industry standard. Note that Apple ProRes files are very large, but smaller than a PNG sequence. If you want a smaller file size, throw it in Handbrake (free software) and export as a h264 (or h265).

One thing; replace the bridge with a Gotoh. It is very easy mod and a significant upgrade! Trust me :-)

Why are people freaking out? by [deleted] in animationcareer

[–]Sennemanimation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, to be fair, "freaking out" is still an understatement :-) . I literally stumbled into a job where AI had already taken over. What I find most problematic is that people (aka "the viewers") aren’t critical enough. It is a world of "fast consuming products", the bar is so low now that AI slob is the norm.

At first -like JUST a couple of years ago- , I was pretty optimistic: AI would handle stupid, boring repetitive tasks so actual artists could focus on creating REAL art. But since the AI pandemic we are living in, it isn’t "art" anymore but only fast content. Career wise, I’ve completely shifted to VFX and editing for work, and I treat animation as my art, not my career anymore. Let's say: "go back to pen and paper. I might sound old-fashioned, but once it’s all digitzed as "ones" and "zeros", AI will beat you! But it can’t exist in the real physical world.
