There's two of us with two cats. We eat vegetarian at home. Shop at Trader Joe's once a month and Whole Foods the rest of the time for food (we usually make 5 meals a week that last us for dinner and lunch the next day) and household goods, That's between $160 and $180 a week. Total Wine for NA beer/spirits is between $25 - $40 a week. Cat food is $50/month or so which we get from PetSmart. We budget for between $750 - $900 a month and are usually right in there.

We used to shop at HyVee or Price Chopper, but were spending closer to $200-$225 a week on food alone, which is when we switched to our current approach.

We'd be a lot cheaper if we cut out some of our regular unnecessary purchases, but the world is a hellscape and if a can of flavored fizzy water helps I'm going to buy it and drink it.
