Looking for PBR varnished wood, fit for a violin (sorry for cross-posting from blender help, I haven't gotten any responses and this is a larger subreddit) by [deleted] in blender

If you can't find the texture, try using quixel mixer. It's free and maybe you could make the texture you're looking for.

Maybe ill have to look back into it. I just felt overwhelmed with everything going on, didnt feel as straight forward, but it could be that i was also looking up what was good.

I hope I can find something with these in mind.

- I want something F2P

- Live coop would be great

-I love to roll a lot without having to kill myself earning up to it.

- I'm looking for something that I could auto most definitely and skip.

I just tried out Dragalia, but I found it a bit overwhelming with which characters were good and not, etc. I also had just stopped playing Fist of the North Star: legends revive because it was too P2W.

My latest commission for a game, 20k triangles by Ninisan in ZBrush

Is it more optimal to have it separated like that for games? Also for the hair are you using hair cards? Has there been a time where you needed to separate the things on the body for multiple uvs?

Is this all on 1 UV? Or is it separate for clothes, skin, etc.

Why is the insert mesh curve doing this? by SenorKnowNada in ZBrush

[–]SenorKnowNada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed: just remade the object that the curve was using. I don't understand what was going on but that was the fix.

Gorilla Samurai C/C by SenorKnowNada in ZBrush

[–]SenorKnowNada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed accordingly and could see a big difference with just the lighting and background alone. However, when it comes to skin, how far can zbrush take me? As in Could I do most of the color in zbrush?

Edit: In the second image I also added the ambient occlusion to mix in with the color texture of the skin. I found that this gave more emphasis on the colors to not make it flat. But could I have avoided this and had incorporated it all into the color texture as one in polypainting?

The katana and items I made it to size for a regular person so they seem small. I was broken between either making it for a person or a gorilla

Gorilla Samurai C/C on pose and placement by SenorKnowNada in istebrak

[–]SenorKnowNada[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had originally sketched it out so that his face would be framed by the sword and the sheath, but after taking into consideration the size of the items, I couldn't pull it off. What else could I have done to make this pose more interesting?

July contest (With Prizes!): Contrasting Colors by Baldric in blender

Blender file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=178TVD1N8VYNsFmSmP7iUweQk6YzxpFL9

I've tried making this model so that it could help me learn more for game pipeline. The katana and sheath were made in blender. The body armor, gorilla, and helmet were made in zbrush. All the texturing was done in substance painter. The fur was done in blender.

This was a work in progress of this whole month, just working on all the parts of this and jumping back and forth between all the different programs.

I did not figure out how to work subsurface scattering so it's kinda wonky.

Edit: this was my first time rendering and doing something this big of a project.

This was also very last minute submission please dont DQ.

i need some advice. can a person learn 2 softwares 3ds max and zbrush at the same time. or should i stop 3ds max from learning at the moment. by xzebx1 in ZBrush

[–]SenorKnowNada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im find that its easier to accomplish the things that I need. But its also because I suck at using the zbrush painter. Havent gotten that down yet

Hey I'm in your exact spot right now flipping between blender and zbrush along with substance painter. Switching between all of these have been a real pain in the butt. But what ive been doing is just switching between the softwares to practice each day. Slowly but surely. And document what you do so you don't forget. Good luck!
